Cotton + Birch Collective — Local services in Eagle River

I was spending the week with my friend at her family’s cabin on Lost Lake, and we made a few trips into nearby towns. We came to Eagle River to get her favorite childhood candy from a local store, and on the way back, we popped into Cotton + Birch. I was blown away by the atmosphere, decor, clothing and accessories! My first thought was “I want to live in here!” It’s just so light and airy, casual and funky, with beautiful things to look at.

The first thing I pounced on were these adorable fabric hair clips that come in a set of 2. My hair is very curly and it was driving me nuts because the humidity made it twice as big by the time we got there, and I couldn’t wait and clipped it back. Phew! I was immediately drawn to the rack of Johnny Was clothing, which sadly, is above my pay grade (but it’s so beautiful), but I found the awesomest cotton summer dress for only $45! I also scored an adorable olive colored scarf with tassels all around for $12, a great pair of cat-eye readers and several bars of handmade artisanal soaps.

Cotton + Birch has items for every budget, with clothing from Hem & Thread and Easel, to Free People and the aforementioned Johnny Was. Accessories like jewelry, hats, scarves and gorgeous home decor. I hope to stop in again during next...

I was so sad that Urban Nest in Sparta became Cotton and Birch. Not because of the name change, but because of how much the store changed. It used to take me an hour or more to browse the store, and the variety and price of gifts was awesome. The variety of clothing was also wonderful and it was an experience I looked forward to taking my family on during holiday visits. Now, there is not a lot of variety and everything there is expensive. It took me 5 minutes to walk through and see everything. I used to spend at least $500 there during the holidays. I thoroughly enjoy shopping for gifts here for myself and family and friends. Whenever I come to shop customer service is excellent and they always assis6 me while trying on item or making recommendations when trying to build outfits for special occasions. Im grateful to have a place to shop like this in the northwoods. Also very impressed with the staff member who let me finish shopping today at closing.
