Today was my second visit to North Georgia Diamond in Elijay, Ga. I must tell you that Bill and Allison, the owners of North Georgia Diamond, have great insight when choosing their employees. The first time I was there I interacted with Jimmy and Melissa. This was a very emotional visit for me as I was needing help in getting a watch working. The watch belonged to my youngest son who was killed in Iraq in November of 2007. My heart was filled with fear that they would not be able to help me. Jimmy immediately took me under his wing and began making arrangements to send it on to a watchman. However, he decided that they would have a look at it first and see what they could do. Sure enough, after a few minutes, Deanna, using her expertise and tool was able to get the stem out and get it going. Melissa told me she would find me a watch band suitable to protect the watch and look awesome as well and to check back with her after a couple of weeks. With grateful heart I took the watch and headed home. I didn't wear the watch as I was waiting to go back to work so it wouldn't take a beating while I worked at home. Somehow during the time after I brought the watch home I must have unknowingly pulled out the stem and got the watch out of kilter. I didn't notice this error on my part until last week. I tried to fix it but managed to mess up the date as well. Today I went back to North Georgia Diamond and was greeted this time by Gill who immediately took control of my treasure and the wonderful crew began to work on it. Again, Deanna got out her trusty tool and within a few minutes has both the time and the date set correctly for me. With a grateful heart I thanked these wonderful people for their kindness and care of both the watch and me as well. As I began to walk out I looked down at the watch and realized it was the same beat up band on it. I turned and went back to Gill and asked about a watchband. Here comes Melissa and said she had found a band for the watch and asked me if I would like to see it. I said yes and she turned and went to retrieve it. When Melissa returned with it I was shocked at how perfectly the band complimented the watch. I told Melissa that this was the ONE!. Melissa returned to the back and with Elizabeth's help put the band on the watch. It was a match I would never have dreamed of but Melissa, with her vision and knowledge of watches, had picked a perfect, sturdy, handsome band. I know that Kevin was watching and that he is so pleased that the watch is now working and held on my wrist by the most awesome band ever! I thanked them all thru the tears that flowed like a river for their kindness and help. I would also like to mention B. J., Hunter and Ken with whom I did not interact but there is not a doubt in my mind that they are as caring and professional as the specialists I was literally blessed to take care of me and my problem. My advise to everyone in this area is to immediately go to North Georgia Diamond at Highland Drive, Suite 105 in East Ellijay, GA if you have a problem or are just looking for outstanding gems. You will receive the best, most sincere help imaginable with new purchases or care of needed repairs. These highly trained professionals know their business plus they will go out of their way to treat you like their only customer. Again, thank you Allison and Bill for choosing such high quality individuals to serve the public in your establishment.

Read more10 years ago I walked into NGD for the very first time. Allison was there to greet me and she ended up helping me upgrade my engagement ring. I was literally in out of the store in less than 40 minutes that day with my beautiful new ring! Over these 10 years I’ve inherited a lot of family jewelry and lost my husband. I had been wanting to have a jeweler look at all of my jewelry but the thought of what to do with it all was too overwhelming. Friends suggested some local jewelers and I did go into a couple and just didn’t feel a trust connection. All the while, in the back of my mind I kept remembering my interaction with Allison at NGD. Three months ago, on a whim, I thought to myself, if I don’t do this now I will never do it. So I grabbed all my jewelry, hopped in my car, drove 1hr and 5mins straight up to NGD and thought “whatever happens happens”. I walked in the door, laid all my jewelry on the counter and explained my situation to the associate. She said Wow! Let me see if Allison is still here. I said oh my gosh I remember Allison but she won’t remember me, she helped me upgrade my engagement setting 10 years ago! Out walked Allison and I said, “yup that’s her”! I could write a book highlighting our last 3-4 months of custom jewelry designing with Allison & BJ, as it has been one of the most wonderful experiences in my life! All the pieces are simply exquisite!! The gold from my husband’s and my wedding bands, along with my engagement diamond were used to create the Heart shaped necklace, the other pieces were designed using my inherited diamonds etc etc! It all speaks to Allison’s creative brilliance!!
PS… I forgot to mention that on that first day when Allison said (with BJ standing beside her shaking her head in agreement) “wow, we can definitely do a lot with this, but I’m gonna need some time to comb through it all to come up with some ideas”. I said “take your time” and left all of my beautiful sentimental jewelry with them never thinking once, “can I even trust these people?” I just “knew” I could! It’s been 3 awesome months and lots of hours in my car! Thank you so much to all of the staff at NGD; but to Allison & BJ, you ladies are now considered...
Read moreI took my tangled jewelry there over 2-3 months ago. The repair ticket said approx. 9 days to repair. I am giving them a two out of five stars because two of the five items were taken care of. After weeks of waiting I finally called to check on the status. I did get a prompt response and that being they would cut the jewelry and repair to untangle for $130-$140. The quote was fine with me. When my husband arrived to pick up the jewelry they had only repaired the earrings and one other item. The tangled jewelry was in worse shape than when I left it there, however they did get the 1 anklet out of the tangled mess. After receiving a worse tangled mess, I called them. A rep there said someone would call me back. I never received a follow up call. They could have called me to tell me it really wasn’t ready instead of leading me on that my repair was ready for pickup. I feel as if I was just put on the back burner for months and all the time I waited someone else could have fixed it. Lastly, I did get the tangled mess repaired, elsewhere in a promptly time frame, not by a jewelry store but by a...
