Rix Pool & Spa; specifically Jim Silverstein, Owner/President, are unprofessional and encroach on illegal practice.
After up-selling products and services for our pool over the years, when a specific problem arose relating to one of those products rather than to be there for us to support/resolve the issue, Jim Silverstein ultimately sent this email: "We elect to no longer offer any service or support for your pool care." When Rix Pool & Spa, Jim Silverstein decide that they have sucked enough blood out of you ($$$) and you're no longer worth their while, they kick you to the curb; when you needed them the most.
When it came to water testing, or a vanilla pool opening/closing there was never a problem. However, when there was a 'bigger issue' (ie: water leak from solar heating system purchased, installed and warrantied by Rix) Jim Silverstein and company used it as a reason to stop offering support and service.
Rix Pool & Spa is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau. There are very similar negative experiences to mine listed under the customer review section of the BBB as well as many sites such as this. I will leave a review there as well as warning so that others don't fall into the same trap I did.
Please do your research and save yourself time and money and avoid Rix Pool & Spa.

Read moreI have an appointment with them and I told him over the phone I need 15 minutes to get there at the house to inspect if I can open the pool this year and meanwhile I asked if I wanted to purchase a hot tub and a sauna and the delivery manager Brian cannot come out At this time I ask them if the guy still coming to check the pool Kathy think the measurement for the tub and sauna make the story short I got there I waited for 45 minutes nobody showed up I called she said the guy was outside for 25 minutes then he left meanwhile three cars parking out there No one called then She said let me send the Technician out there again I waited for another half an hour I called back someone else answered he said no no one is coming back and I have to make another appointment with all due respect people time is very important meanwhile I called Presco hot tub and they gave me a much better price and he came out to check the dimensions on the same Appointment date I think they need to have a better way of communication with the client I may be doing something...
Read morePurchased a robot here 2 years and 2 months. Wasn't explained that I had a warranty or a options to extentd a 2 years warranty but that is beside the point. I had one wheel not working and notice the other one had worked. I brought it in yesterday.
Rix pool told me they were able to get the wheel working but the power cord and motor is burned out. There is a safety switch that protect the motor. As a engineer this is on the tech doing diagnostic or screwing around multiple times. Basically for me to pay for the repair is 700 which doesn't make sense when you can buy new for 900.
I also purchased a new pump for $1,700 2 weeks ago and was never explained nor any sheet of paper that came with the pump that says there is a warranty. But there is.
I spend at least 5K to 6K a year for the last 4 years here. They explained big retailor dont explain warranties. Thought I was shopping small business and with people that care.
