I never dyed my hair before so I wanted to go blonde for the first time and made an appointment with the owner to do so. They charged me $120 to book the appointment which I thought would be applied to the total price after but that was not the case and paid a additional $300+. I also wanted my tips cut but they told me it was not possible due to my hair being in a ponytail or something within those lines. (My English is not the best, sorry) So they had me make another appointment for two weeks after and I put an additional $120 towards that. So fast forward to today I come in for my cut and literally sat down for 5-10 minutes. (Mind you I have really short hair does not pass my shoulders so there was barely anything to cut) which I was not happy with the end results. So here I go and walk over to the register and I'm thinking it can't be much since i already put down $120. In my mind she was counting that towards the cut. But no she charged me a additional $120. Now I'm confused. Cause I never heard of someone charging $240 for a 5 minute cut. My mind blew up and felt that since I couldn't really defend myself cause my english is not so great she abused of the situation. I feel like even if that is the case that she charges $120 for me to even see her, makes no sense cause it was something I wanted from the first appointment so she forced a second one to make a additional $120 of me. I guess inflation also made the price of seeing someone's face also go up. I'm highly upset sorry if this is hard to understand had to use a translator just to type this out. I never been in a situation like this before so I don't even know what to do or how to handle it. But she definitely got me good. Will not return. (She was quick to try to get me to do another appointment and put down another $120) So I can do my cut on 3 months. I looked at her like she had 10 heads paid her the money and walked...
Read moreI recently moved to RI and hadn’t gotten a haircut since the pandemic began. Having curly hair (3A+3B), it can be difficult and scary to put that trust in someone. Luckily, I found Lavish Salon and my hair is forever grateful.
I’ve had two appointments with this salon so far. First, I had a haircut with Alisha. I wasn’t looking for anything drastic, just a refresh and getting rid of split ends. Alisha does a dry cut, meaning each curl is handled with care. The products used are meant for curly hair and my hair loved the nourishment. I am so impressed with the result and will continue to come back for routine cuts.
I went back a week later to freshen up my hair. I have been dying my hair on and off for a decade and was ready to go back to blonde. This time I saw Sabrina. This appointment was quite long but the results were so worth it. Sabrina brought so much dimension to my hair. She took my reference photo and made it a perfect fit for me.
The salon also took proper COVID safety protocol. I felt very safe and comfortable during my visits. The interior is beautiful and you will truly enjoy a “lavish” experience.
Curly pals, this is the salon to go to in...
Read moreI’m writing to share my recent experience, as I’m extremely disappointed with the service I received during my appointment with Gina. I specifically asked her not to cut any length off my hair. I clearly explained that I only wanted face-framing pieces and long layers at the back. I even showed reference photos to ensure there was no confusion.
Unfortunately, she did the complete opposite—removing a significant amount of length and not giving me the face-framing pieces I requested. During the cut, she even made a comment saying, “I get too happy with the scissors,” which made me feel uneasy about the direction the haircut was going.
After the appointment, once I got to my car and saw how much length had been taken off, I called her to express my concern. Her response was, “I took as much as I needed to,” which was both dismissive and unacceptable. As a paying client, I should have control over how much of my hair is cut—not the stylist.
This was a very frustrating and upsetting experience, and I hope steps are taken to prevent this from happening to...
