The Local — Restaurant in East Providence

Coming to RI from NYC, sometimes it’s so hard to find a spot that really fits the vibe that your used to. After recently relocating to RI, I decided to explore my surroundings and came across the Local….I went there on a day where I wasn’t feeling my best …and the energy and attentive service that I received from this place changed my mood in a 360 way. I walked right into the bar and was greeted with. a bright smile by the bartender , Traci!!! Listen if you go on a day that she is working , trust and believe that your drink is going to be top notch and you will leave feeling so well taken care of . Her energy and attitude is so unmatched! She welcomed me with such a bright and warm smile, ready to meet my needs before I even knew what they were . She had a way with mixing her drinks too! As an old baretender myself, I am so picky with how my drinks are made….and the way she slays a blueberry margarita!! I honestly don’t even go there for anything but that! Great local (lol) spot in EP! I’ve gone there for dinner, drinks and to watch games and have had always had a great experience.

I was extra impressed though after hosting a professional happy hour there. Coordinating the event was super easy, the communication was great and they were so flexible with everything, so we were able to really make the event what we wanted it to be, without having to fight the usual “this is how we do things and that’s that” you typically run into with venues.

Because we did it open house style, we didn’t have an exact amount of people to plan for, and the staff didn’t miss a beat when it got busier than we anticipated. The service was fast, the staff were super friendly, and the food was still just as great even with the catering sized portions. They were great at anticipating our needs, and were constantly doing things like refilling the food stations without us having to ask. Made it easy for us to enjoy the event instead of just working it.

I liked it. You can tell they made a bunch of stuff themselves in house (instead of buying premade) There are couches in here, which I LOVE. I like when a place has comfortable seating and a bunch of options for seat types. There were tall seats, low ones and couches. Outdoor seating etc. They had Birria egg rolls as a special and they were really good but not exactly like regular birria but still a great dish. Buffalo chicken tots were like Buffalo chicken salad style which I didn’t realize but it probably said it on the menu and I didn’t read it. Side salad was a good size for me. I feel like they would do really well on Uber eats. Spicy Watermelon margarita was good BUT it was like jolly rancher watermelon flavor rather than natural watermelon flavor.
