Kohl's — Local services in Eau Claire

Kohls used to be one of the better stores to shop at but this Christmas season they have been horrible. I shop online for most things and until I was fully checked out I didn’t see that the coupon I selected did not get applied. I immediately contacted customer service and was told they could not help me. My option was to return my full order. When I got the Order the box it in was totally smashed in because they used a very odd oversized box and when things were set on it the box caved it in. The items were exposed to the outside elements. In addition this the wrong discount, the failed packaging and the poor customer service, the coat I ordered still had the ink tag on it that must be removed when leaving a store. So, even if I were to keep the item it would have still required a trip to the store.

Store is well organized, bathrooms nice, merchandise good quality and selection. Now, whoever made the decision to partner with Amazon for returns deserves a star for good business stratagem. When you take an item in to return they'll do all the packaging and mailing free. Then you get a coupon for Kohl's. They are drawing in more customers off the street, and the added discount makes it very easy to make a purchase. Now, I'm not affiliated with Kohl's, but I could see the good strategy and I was pleased to take advantage of it. So, lots of pros. The one thing I've never really appreciated about Kohl's is that there is a perpetual "sale". It may make some folks feel like they're saving money, but it generally an annoyance to me as I have to keep looking at their "$$=$ on sale" signs to figure out exactly what each item is actually going to cost. I had AMAZING customer service tonight! We stopped in just to look around at the end of season sales. Their T-shirts were a great deal, but did not have my size out. I jokingly said to my party that I was out of luck unless I could squeeze into a small or exta-small (which I can't lol). I heard a voice behind a rolling rack ask me "What shirts are you looking for? Let me check in back for you!" Turns out it was the store manager! She was a ray of sunshine!

Two things, thank you first to the store manager for being out on the floor. I am in management and the biggest thing you can do to build a great team is be out, on the floor, and active with your employees. That makes such a HUGE difference.
