Burrachos Fresh Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Eau Claire

I don't like giving places a 1 star rating, especially locally owned, but even with half off certificates, I might not go back. Burrito joints are usually my go to restaurants in my home town and while traveling. I almost always have a hard time finishing them because they are filled with so many ingredients. My experience last week was laughable. The $1 burritos at Taco Bell are bigger than what I received from $8+. Next, the cheese dip. $3 for a cup..correction ... A tiny tiny sauce cup of cheese dip. They did give me a large bag of chips but unfortunately I only got about 15 dips of the cheese dip before it was gone and had 75% of the chips left. My wife also NEVER finishes her meal at burrito places but here, she ate everything and was still hungry...as was I. I guess I'm used to Qdoba that gives you everything in the burrito, including cheese dip and guacamole for $8 and their sides of $4 cheese dip come with 5x as much cheese as Burrachos. The flavor was fine here and the employees were also fine. I am just disappointed in the portion sizes...

I was excited to see a Burrachoes as we initially were traveling and seeking out firehouse subs. Upon entering my son and I needed to use the bathrooms. Seriously every table was dirty, some of the seating had food on it as well as the floor needed sweeping because there was food on the floor. Upon entering the counter I person ignored me and had to get his attention and ask what kind of food ppl were eating at a table nearby as it looked great. He said it was a burrito bowl. I excitedly said “ great I’ll have one of those!” He didn’t respond. Finished stocking lids, wiping down counter. I couldn’t believe it. I was about to leave when I saw him wash his hands. So I waited thinking I would get service. He put on gloves then started sticking rice and meats. Still not acknowledging me I was very mad. I walked out and went to firehouse subs which was my original destination. The place was clean we were acknowledged and were served quickly. The manager of Burrachoes seriously needs to train their staff of doing their jobs! We will...

This is the second time I have been to a Burrachos and both times it was this location. I do rate Burrachos on what it is, it is a restuarant comparable to Qdoba and Chipotle so I give it 4/5 stars based on that. I think it is better than both of those places and that is with the understanding that there are differences that I personally like more. The queso is a more authentic queso, it is a little more bland but fits better in a burrito. However not as good for chips. The steak tastes better than what I get at qdoba or chipotle. Also the salsas are much better. The vegetables are way too heavy on the onions and could use more peppers. Overall everything felt fresher, however I would say that busier Qdobas and Chipotles also have very fresh food.
