As a higher education professional who embarked on my academic journey at Middlesex College in 2015, I may be a tad biased, but I cannot sing enough praises for this institution.
Middlesex College serves as a stellar starting point for anyone venturing into academia. In 2015, I had just finished my service with the Air Force and was looking to enroll in some college courses. From the moment I stepped foot on campus, I was met with a seamless and comprehensive process in admissions, financial aid, and program planning. The dedication of the staff in guiding students through these crucial initial steps sets a high standard for student support.
What truly sets Middlesex apart, however, is its vibrant student life and extracurricular opportunities. Despite being a commuter campus, I found myself deeply involved in various activities and organizations that enriched my college experience. The connections I formed with professors and professional staff during this time have endured long past graduation, a testament to the tight-knit community fostered at Middlesex.
I later graduated in 2018, little did I know that this chapter would open doors to countless opportunities in my career. I ended up returning to Middlesex to start my career as a High Education professional. Here, I held many hats (Academic Advisor, Enrollment Services Specialist, and Student Records Evaluator). All have allowed me to pay forward the support and guidance I received as a student.
The impact of Middlesex College extends far beyond its campus borders. The education and experiences gained here have propelled me into positions at prestigious institutions like New York University, Cornell, and Kean University. This speaks volumes about the quality of education and preparation Middlesex provides its students.
In essence, Middlesex College isn't just a place of learning; it's a launchpad for personal and professional growth. For anyone considering their next step in academia, I wholeheartedly recommend Middlesex College as the ideal foundation for a...
Read moreHonestly speaking, this is one of the worst schools I have ever had to deal with. If you are looking to come here to save money, please look elsewhere. Probably any other community college would be better than this one. Middlesex charges you surprising fees each and every semester without notification. The moment you do get notified is once you are 'overdue' on your balance (the balance that they throw into your account 1 day prior). It may seem that I am making this up, but it happens EVERY SEMESTER. I have written so many different letters/emails complaining about the suspicious charges to financial aid, registrar, etc. and it takes so much fighting to prove that I am right, which I always have been, before they can fix their mistake. It is VERY important to make sure all communication with this facility is in writing, because each staff representative will tell you something different depending on who you are talking to. It is sad that this school does not know how to properly operate or coordinate with each other, because it is the students who ultimately suffer. I should have had my degree a long time ago, but due to the disorganization from this facility and the random charges, I have had to drop all classes each time I try to enroll in school. I have 3 classes left to get my degree... It is pending 2 years since I was last able to successfully complete a course... This facility makes it nearly impossible to graduate.
They also will take away your financial aid award mid semester and since you already started class, they will charge you full amount. and unfortunately, the student never wins in that situation because Middlesex will tell you it is out of their hands. This company is a SCAM.
WHATEVER YOU DO, PLEASE TAKE MY WORD FOR IT AS A CURRENT STUDENT - SAVE YOURSELF & DO NOT ATTEND MIDDLESEX...
Read moreI haven't started the school experience here yet. I only did the "Student Advising" basics that you do before you go to school.... Basically knowing the school before hand...
I have a learning disability (I may not seem like it.. but you can tell how I'm typing already.), as a person who had mostly an IEP... (My disability is not grasping the information easily, and having a hard time understanding.) For anyone that has a Learning Disability it's good to apply for Project Connections, they would really help you out. I decided to take it a step up and not do Project Connections, even though I was accepted into it.
Apply to the collage, okay.. awesome.. easy... Going to the testing center, alright... dunno what I am doing... great... one sounded off rude.. but I think she was tryin' to be funny... but it wasn't towards me. Grasping whatever information they told me, easy. Doing the test, and understanding the test question for the essay portion... I am not starting off too good. Especially when you have a time limit of one hour. I took me 20 mins to sort of understand what I was reading. Great.... going well... Wished there was someone in the room or had headphones to let someone or something read it to me...
Student Advising, I wish could be easier to find on the website. It took me 3 days to find that page, and it wasn't fun. They really go through go to register for class, nothing really detailed.
Student Tour... breeezzzzzeeeeee... Student ID... I dunno what they ment by "MCC ID card ticket" like.. ???? Where???
I'll edit this...
