I miss Al already... The new owner will ignore you when you walk in the door, and will keep playing with his pokémon cards. When you talk to him, or ask him a question, he's very gruff and NOT a very friendly person. When you ask him a question, he has a snappy attitude when he answers your question and doesn't even look at you while doing it. He acts really annoyed that someone is in his store, bothering him. I've read the other reviews on this site, and it looks like I'm not the only one that feels this way. His business will fail. You would think he would have more pride in his business. It's called a "Sports card" store, but the selection is very tiny. It's mostly Pokémon and Magic... kids' stuff. Yesterday was my last time in the store... Won't be back!.. Everyone reading this post, needs to go to ""MM7 sports card"" shop in Moore Oklahoma. The selection is huge and the Owner & Employees are so friendly. They love to chat with you, because collecting is their passion. They value their customers, and they will make you a fair deal. (it's actually a sports card shop, unlike Al's). Al's shop is closer since I live in Edmond, (and definitely more convenient) but after checking out the other shop in Moore, I will start making the longer drive to visit that one......
Read moreWent in an hour before closing. First time in, so I'd never met the previous owner. The current one was busy going through cards and sorting, but he wasn't rude. He has a business to run with tons of cards! We asked a couple of cost questions, and he answered immediately. He wasn't overly friendly, but he also wasn't rude. My little guy just got into baseball cards, and we told the owner it was his first time in a card store when we checked out. He let him pick out a free pack of cards, and my son was extremely excited! He hasn't stopped talking about it all week. I know others have had bad interactions, but other than Chik-fil-a, customer service is basically dead no matter where you go! Plus, it was also kind of nice that we just got to roam around without someone watching us like a hawk. Prices are a little high, but COVID drove the market up due to all the new collectors. Prices are high everywhere I've been. If you don't think so, just compare eBay prices on some cards. Prices are everywhere, with people scamming and taking advantage of new collectors....
Read moregenuinely beyond unfriendly. the store admittedly wasn't what I was going in for, so I can't judge it as that.
I was wanting more of a general card store, but this is a majority of Sport Cards. I knew that going in, but the outside of the store advertises more of a general assortment of card games and cards.
This is a review entirely about the atmosphere of the store. it feels downright hostile. the person behind the counter just glares at you, and ignores your existence after that. there was no greeting, no communication, nothing.
after reading other reviews, it seems to be that there was a change in management. definitely for the worse, it seems.
highly recommend avoiding this store if you are looking for any sort of card game like Magic the Gathering, Pokémon,...
