The console made for me was dimensionally to my specs. The rest of this custom piece missed the mark. The owner offered to pick up the piece and sand some areas that were left very rough from the lacquer and to also sand/work the bottom corners down to meet the design I asked for which was rounded corners. I appreciated that offer. What was not offered was to fix the very dark color of stain that I did not ask for. Nor did I get an offer to round the console legs that were made with a straight edge. I had sent pictures showing the desired rounded leg design and the owner acknowledged that picture of the leg shape. The color was just flat wrong. No offer to fix those issues which to me were the biggest miss and really off-putting. No offer to fix, no offer for partial credit, refund, nothing outside of the offer to smooth some very rough spots on the woods surface and the bottom corners. I'd recommend meeting this owner on site and in person to discuss custom projects. I feel the piece was rushed and details were missed - I know he was going through a lot during the period when my console was being built. Things happen, but details were flat missed and I just didn't like the lack of solutions offered. At the end of the day I accepted the console as it is because I do not live close and while it missed the mark on what I was wanting - it is a nice looking unit that seems well built - but it's not what I asked for either. For the premium price you are faced with for a custom piece I expected the experience and end result to match that premium. I'm certain most will not have the same issues. And, up until delivery of the unit everything had went just fine. You'll get a nice piece from Graeber Design but if you want custom you might consider meeting in person to discuss details. EDIT: in response to the owners defensive reply, that’s exactly the defensive response and attitude I received when I very respectfully attempted to make him aware of the problems with the console. I did see pictures of the piece while it was still unfinished. Still no offer to remake it or refinish it nor to correct the leg style he chose all on his own. You’re stuck with what he delivers - correct or not. That is not custom. Rather unfortunate, sad responses. That there are many positive reviews does not change his failures...
Read more3 years ago I wanted a credenza to complete our master bedroom furniture and was fortunate enough to have found Willie. He worked with me to design the perfect piece and we couldn’t have been happier! Then of course we needed a live edge bar table for our media room and he worked his magic again! The latest piece was our beautiful 2” walnut kitchen table with black and gold metal legs that is a show stopper!! Finally we decided we just had to have one more piece and Willie designed a fabulous coffee table with 3” thick walnut and black metal legs that he is working on now. We are so excited to see his creation come to life and add to our collection of timeless beautiful furniture that will be passed down through generations to come! We love everything he does❣️ Willie is a true artist and craftsman and we would highly recommend anything he does. He is...
Read moreWe recently moved back to the area and needed a custom dining table for a challenging space. We were introduced to Graeber through a local contact. We honestly didn’t know what to expect. This is the first time we’ve ever had a custom piece of furniture. To say that Willie and the crew at Graeber exceeded our expectations is an understatement! The quality of our table is amazing. It is absolutely the perfect color and size for the space we have. The team that delivered the table was professional and courteous and worked with great efficiency. I recommend anyone looking for good quality furniture to look no further. Even better, we were able to support a local craftsman. Willie is phenomenal, his crew is too. Make sure to check them out! We already have some ideas for...
