I've been searching a while for a rain jacket for hiking just to keep in my pack in case the weather changes, or the wind shifts, particularly in the desert and the mountainous areas.
Literally, yesterday I was hiking Blackett's Ridge Mountain. It was 70° perfect sun. Then it took a turn at about 2:00 p.m. And it poured for about 22 minutes! I will never be hiking without a raincoat again.
Amazon, Columbia etc. is way too overpriced for a raincoat. I've already sent back three. But I stopped by today at Womanhaven. I purchased a raincoat with seams ultralight weight, two inside and 2 outer, pockets, all drawstring mesh lining for only $2.42. Some deals cannot be passed up. Who cares there's a logo on the side, I just don't want to be soaking wet.
Customer service was outstanding The selection of items are met, but you may find the exact one thing you're looking for. If I was just doing general thrift store shopping it might be a toss-up if I would come here. But I also live 2 hours...
Read moreI like the store and the staff, however; they try to conceal flaws. I bought a purse that had a rip on the handle but it was covered up by the price sticker. I bought a sleeping bag that had no zipper. I've found stains on blankets, but they are taped up so you can't see them until you get them home. Then of course they don't accept refunds. They need to disclose flaws, not hide them! Be upfront and honest and let the customer decide if they want the items...
