Super 8 by Wyndham El Centro North — Hotel in El Centro

The Manager of this facility is very unprofessional and if I could have given this a negative stars I would have. I have been out here in California for 10 days and this hotel by FAR was the WORST OF THEM ALL. I have stayed at multiple Super 8 locations and they are all budget friendly, but they have all been very professional and decent with the exception of this one. The internet was not working, it would allow you to connect and then drop out as soon as you connected and would not allow you to reconnect. We reserved the room for 2 people and found that there was only one set of towels, upon going to the office to get some more, the manager said he would bring some more...then only brought one towel so we had to share a washcloth and hand towel, thank goodness it was only for one night. Then we go down for breakfast and find that the door is locked in the middle of breakfast hours and had to ring the bell several times only to have the manager come down looking like we had woke him up, and find that the only offerings is coffee and a honeybun with some yogurt. When we asked about it he said that this was all he was allowed to put out per his instructions. But other independently owned Super 8's have more breakfast offerings so I'm confused. Plus the website for THIS location said that they had an outdoor pool, (one reason we booked this location) and come to find out that there isn't one and when we asked again all we got is excuses about "the county shut down the pool" no apologies about the false advertising etc. Just a very poor way...

The service at this Super 8 in El Centro was on a scale between 1 and 10 a one. There are so many items we experienced which led to this review. It started with the son of the previous manager who is now in charge. HE is you and inexperiences and his customer service skills are very bad, not realizing that the customers arre paying him and not vice versa. Basically he is playing the king. We reserved a room for 2 persons but there was only one towel set. Went to the frontdesk and requested a second one. I needed to ring the bell outside of the office for a long time until he did show up. Explained him i would need a second one. It took him a long time to get and it was only a big sheet. Then in the room the offered internet was working sporadic no steady connetion was possible it dropped permanently the connection after couple of seconds. Then in the morning we did hope that the complementary breakfast was a highlight, but there were only 3 yogurts and some swirls and coffee available, nothing else. Asking the "manager" what's up with that, his answer was that's the minimum corporate requires to offer. We were traveling and stayed during this trip in several Super 8 but this one was the very bottom one of all of them. Also on their website a pool is listed, it was not accessible, according the "manager" the county did shut it down. So if someone is booking this Super 8 needs to know that you're not getting what is written on...

The ratings and reviews that are up are COMPLETELY false. The gentleman that checked me in was very helpful and polite. Once I got into my room I was blown away. It was very clean and spacious and comfortable. The mirror in the bathroom was a modern one with a touchscreen power button with a defrost and multiple lighting settings. The complex was quiet and neat and had complementary breakfast until 9 a.m every morning and was clean and well stocked. Overall I would recommend this location to everyone looking for excellent amenities and service for a reasonable price. I recently came back with my kids and they had a BLAST lol. My daughter wouldn't stop looking at herself in the touchscreen mirror and my son was enjoying the enormous bed and TV like he was king...
