This Liuzhou Luosifen in LA with Deep-Fried Eggs and Tiger-Skin Chicken Feet is Absolutely Legendary!
LeRoyLeRoy
As a native of Guangxi, every time I see recommendations for places serving freshly cooked Luosifen (river snail rice noodles), I can't wait to rush over! I miss that flavor so much 😭😭😭... I’ve tried several places before, but none quite hit the mark. Yesterday, when this spot popped up, I decided to give it a shot, still holding onto a sliver of hope. The moment I saw "Tianjin Steamed Buns" at the entrance, my heart sank a little 😂—I thought, "Well, this might be it." But as soon as I stepped inside, the aroma gave me hope! I ordered a bowl of Luosifen with medium spice, fried tofu, and a crispy fried egg. At first glance, the noodles looked unremarkable 😂, but the freshly fried egg was incredibly fragrant! And then—the condiment station had perilla leaves! One of my absolute must-haves for Luosifen. If only they had scallion oil too, it’d be perfect! Don’t let the plain appearance fool you—once I added chili oil, it transformed into something magical 😍. Most importantly: the broth tasted **exactly** like the flavors back home!! The noodles also had that authentic Liuzhou texture!! This was so moving! Every bowl had actual river snails. The only downside was the off-texture of the dried tofu skin 😂 and the wood ear mushrooms being a bit too thick and large. But I didn’t mind—everything else I cared about was spot-on! I ended up eating one bowl and taking another to go 😊😊 (I’ve been back three days in a row—I crave it daily now 😭😭). Shop name: Magic Kitchen Address: 10012 Garvey Ave, El Monte, CA 91733 Seriously, I highly recommend it! Hope the owner’s business thrives—maybe even expands to Irvine someday so I can eat it all the time!!! #Luosifen #GuangxiFood #AuthenticTaste #FoodieFinds #NoodleLover #MagicKitchen #EatLikeALocal #MustTry

Not sure why I haven't left a review for this spot yet l've been here a bunch of times already. They open pretty early, so it's a solid place to grab pho or other Vietnamese eats in the morning. I usually go for the pho dac biet, but l've also tried the hu tieu and the banh mi xiu mai, which were both pretty decent. Lately, l've been especially into their pho the broth tastes lighter and cleaner (less oily), which I really like. They also do a great job with their takeout game everything is packed well. Prices are reasonable too, which is probably why I keep coming back. Whenever I'm around El Monte these days, this is my...
