Short version, they showed me a car I loved at a great price, and then strung me along for 3 days with little to no communication before telling me the car wasn't even theirs to sell.
Long version, in addition to the above details, Tyler "Mac Miller" Young was about as professional as his nickname implies, which is to say not very. He was friendly, but he cursed often enough to make my wife and I uncomfortable, his breath smelled terrible, and he consistently tried to show us cars which we had already made it clear we were not interested in. After being asked to come back into the building, I spoke with the manager and the two of them said they could show us a Nissan Maxima which they "had just gotten the paper work for today". The car was perfect, exactly what I wanted and at a good to fair price. I was able to test drive the vehicle, and had the bank which I have my loan through been open at the time, I would have left with it that day as a very happy customer. It's a good thing that I did not.
Before leaving that afternoon, Tyler assured us that we would be able to finish the sale the next day, and that they would even drive it to us and pick up our trade in. Sounds perfect. The next morning I had received no communication from Tyler or the dealership, but was able to secure my loan as well as confirm the payoff on my trade. By almost noon, I was able to get a hold of Tyler, who I had to reach out to, and was then informed that there was a recall on the car which was being worked on and they could not proceed with the deal until it was done, but that I could sign a waiver saying that I wanted to take the car without the repairs being done and that they would do the repairs at a later date. I said that I wanted to take that route, and needed to get the purchase order finished so that my bank could wire the money to them that day. I received no communication from the dealership or Tyler until I again reached out to them, beginning an hour before the days deadline and finally getting a hold of someone just half an hour before wire transfers at my bank stopped for the day.
At that point I was informed that there was an issue with the bank regarding the mother deal for the Maxima (the deal with which they acquired the vehicle I was to be purchasing) and that they would try and have it solved by the end of the day so I could have the car by the next day. This became a pattern, with me having to reach out to the dealership for any kind of update, and having to try for up to an hour to reach someone. Both Tyler's phone and the front desk would ring until it went to voicemail, and I am confident they were screening my phone calls in order to not have to update me on the car I was trying to purchase.
The transaction finally fell apart when I texted Tyler's cell phone number listed on his business card stating that I just wanted to know what the status was and if there was any kind of time frame or estimate as to how long I would need to wait. He responded quickly to my text, stating that the mother deal fell through and they would not be able to sell me the car. I was frustrated, but did not push the issue.
Today, I called and asked to speak to the manager to see if they could help me find a different vehicle, perhaps from a location in the Santa Fe area, and continue business with them. I was transferred to the manager and as soon as I said "Hello, this is Christian", he hung up before I could even finish my sentence.
I believe I was reasonable throughout all of our interactions despite being frustrated, and despite everything had the Maxima deal worked out I would have left a happy customer and left a very different review. Instead I'm leaving this account of my experience and terrified of what would have happened had I left with that Maxima when they showed it to me. AVOID THESE DEALERSHIPS...
Read moreThe Mazda dealership should be ashamed of some of its employees. I will save you my sad back story and just jump to the point. I am very protective of my credit score and asked Daniel multiple times about what a soft pull would do to my score. I was assured that it would not affect my score, so I said okay. I didn't see anything on the lot so Jonathan showed me some possible options online. I still didn't see anything I like so I ended up just leaving. So, imagine my surprise when I got home to realize my credit score dropped due to a HARD PULL from Viva Mazda. I finally got in touch with their finance guy Chris, and he first said I agreed to it and signed the consent. I told him I never signed anything. Then he suddenly has to check the forms and would call me back. At that point, I was glad I had decided to record the call and set up my phone to record for when he called back. I was in shock that his response was a nonchalant remark about how it's not that bad.. NOT THAT BAD!! He said they were sorry and were going to write a letter to the credit bureau. I would've left it at that, but I had forgotten my drivers license there and had to go back. As soon as I pulled into the parking space Daniel comes speed walking out and practically throws my license into my car window and goes back inside without any attempt at an apology. So, I decided to go inside. After waiting for 15+ minutes Chris comes out to finally greet me and pull me into a back office. And again tells me there will be some letter drafted in their fancy letter head and pretty much brushes of my concerns. So, I leave furious and decided leaving a complaint would be easier. I finally get to the right department to be asked, didn't you just call about this? Wasn't me, but I'm far from shocked that I wasn't the only one complaining about these people. I understand to some this may not be a big deal to some, but to me this is the most raw form of disrespect to a person. I was so happy going in there and seeing all the Estella Casas cut outs because I love her and her stand with me campaign!! But now the fact that these are the types of people she supports just makes me sad.. I hope your experience is better, but if anyone is ready to picket Viva Mazda, I'd gladly stand with you. Because nobody deserves to be...
Read moreI know for a fact that the team at VIVA Dodge is shady, and now I'm starting to believe that the parent organization, VIVA Auto Group, is complicit.
I purchased a 2023 Dodge Charger from Viva Dodge on April 30, 2024. The finance manager "sheepishly" tried to get me to sign paperwork for the new car, and the price was higher than we negotiated on the sales floor. He also told me that the best rate we would get is from TD Bank at 7.99%. I asked is Dodge/Chrysler financial offered any financing and he said no. This was a bold faced lie, told directly to my face. Chrysler Financial offered 6.9% for 72 months at the time. We got our loan at Evolve at 6.4%. This guy had TD Bank gear all over his office. I wonder why he was so adamant about sending us to TD Bank?
The next day I took delivery of the car, and when we got it home the rear doors (both of them) would not open. I called my salesperson and she acted surprised that the doors don't work. Someone at that dealiership detailed the whole car, INSIDE and out before I took delivery. You expect me to believe that nobody noticed that the doors didn't work. They worked fine the day before. Now, all of a sudden, as soon as I get the car home, the doors don't work. I took it back for service and was told they needed to order parts, and it would take 3 days. This was on May 4th. On May 13th I called to check on the status, and was told that the parts will not arrive until May 17th. I've already had my BRAND NEW CAR for 3 weeks, and I can't use my back doors.
I have notified the dealership, to no avail. I notified VIVA Auto Group, and have received no response. Now I believe that VIVA Auto Group simply doesn't care about their customers. I urge everybody to look at other dealers to for your new car purchases. I will never purchase another vehicle from any VIVA dealership, ever. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I won't be...
