Rush Chevrolet — Local services in Elgin

I am BIG on customer service - basically, treat me with respect and I will do the same. I live in Austin and have been to Capitol and Henna. Both operate fine service departments but are always very busy. I used Don Hewlett in Georgetown for years and they have always provided top notch service. I moved closer to the toll and began using Rush in Elgin a few years ago. The first couple of service advisors I was fortunate enough to deal with were wonderful. I recently returned for a $400+ repair and had the pleasure of working with Annette. When picking up my vehicle, I had another repair that I had her quote - that one was closer to $600. I waited about a month and decided to move forward. When I phoned to schedule, Annette was busy so I requested to speak to another advisor since I was sure quote was still in system. The other service advisor (mid aged gentleman) had no service skills and made me feel like I was bothering him. I ended the phone call abruptly and got the work done elsewhere. I had the same indicator light come on from previous $400 repair and scheduled return service appointment with Annette. I was disappointed to learn that this was her last week. I knew she would take care of repair so wanted to ensure that I got in before she left. Again, I drive from Austin so had to drop vehicle off early to make it back into town so I could begin my work day. Annette asked me to check in with her replacement because I mentioned that the other gentleman was not my cup of tea. I get there at 7:15 and the rude gentleman is the only one in service area. I greet him with "good morning" & ask for Mike (that is the name I thought Annette mentioned was her replacement) this guy just stares at his computer monitor and then begins repeating "Mike, Mike". Do I stand in the doorway for 5, 15, 30 minutes and just stare at you? I walk off and hear him yell, "I don't have a Mike". I ask the nice lady at front desk if there is anyone else that can check my vehicle in because the other gentleman is rude and I refuse to deal with him. She laughs and replies not until 8:00. I left and will take my business back to Don Hewlett in Georgetown - it is worth the drive and $. I have also used Covert in Hutto a couple of times - never had problem with their service. Buying a vehicle is the easy part - dealing with a terrible service department for years afterward is another. If you don't mind being treated to poor customer service - this is your place. I am just not one to pay for this...

If I could give this dealership zero stars then I would. Where do I start on how unprofessional the employees here are. Let me start off by saying the only reason I decided to try to do business here was because of the radio ad I heard. It stated that they can help you even if you are upside down on a trade in. So this past Sunday I went to their website and filled out the online credit approval. I was called the next day and asked to come in to have my 15' Nissan Altima appraised for my trade in. I had to ask to leave work early to go and do this before 7pm. When I got there I was dealing with Richard as my salesman. I can not say helped because he straight lied to me and wasted my time. They took my car to be appraised and then parked it off to the side where at first I did not see it and had me sit and wait. Then finally Richard brings out a 18' Silverado and shows it to me and asks me how do I feel about it? I looked it over and asked him how much was the total cost and monthly payments he told me " don't worry about that I will make sure to get you the best deal and "I will fight for you to get the lowest possible monthly payments". He NEVER WAS HONEST AND WOULDN'T TELL ME THE PRICING. After playing the waiting game again finally Richard and the finance guy came out and said that I could go home and come back tomorrow to sign all of my paperwork for the truck. I asked Richard where my car was and he pointed to the truck and said you are taking the Silverado home that's your new truck. I took the truck home and the next day called around 4pm to make sure that my paperwork was ready for me to come and sign before driving all the way from Grorgetown. I arrived for the 2nd time around 7:10pm and was dodged the whole time by Richard as I sat and waited. After about 30mins he stopped by the table and said they are almost done and will be ready for you to sign in a few more minutes. At 8pm a different finance guy from the night before comes to the table and starts by saying he is sorry but no approval has been made and no one is calling him back. I was beyond upset and demanded my car keys back. Iam a firm believer in being HONEST with people. At no time was it ok to lie to me, waste my time, and embarrass me like this. If you are looking to purchase a new vehicle please avoid this dealership you deserve better service...

I arrived for my appointment early at 1:20 pm, checked in with the older gentleman, added a replacement battery for my key fob, and went to lobby to wait for my vehicle. There did not appear to be a shortage of staff, but I didn't leave the service center until 4 pm. During my appointment, I received a diagnostic alert notification on myChevy app at 2:57 pm for a driver flat tire while it was in service. To be clear, my diagnostic alerts were accurate and immediate as I received it for the oil life and the previous week for low air pressure for the front passenger side due to cold weather and I went to get my tires checked to confirm there were no nails. I went to find the older gentleman and he was missing for the remainder of my time there, and asked the younger gentleman who went to find out what's going on. He returned and explained they found a nail and patched it at no cost. I explained about the accuracy of my diagnostic alerts, but he kept stating it was there before I came although I didn't receive any alerts prior. Since the older gentleman was missing, the younger gentleman had to check me out but couldn't locate my keys for a while. While checking out, my bill included the oil change, the battery for key fob, and vague labor charges, that have not been on my previous billings. I left unhappy and had to pay for extra time for kid care since I was late picking them up, a higher than expected bill, a very long appointment, not to mentioned that I arrived with a healthy tire and left with a patched one. 2 hr and 40 mins appointment on a Thursday... Lastly, I saw a customer come in about an hour after I came, received service, and left about 40 mins later in his vehicle. Felt like I was bamboozled in...
