I see offers in the mailboxes of new tenants, where optimum sends them an exclusive offer for Internet ONLY for as low as 25.99/month! Not only is it significantly cheaper than my $53 bill, but it is also faster. I have been a loyal customer over 7 yrs at least, paid on time every mo. They upped my bill after the YEARLY promotion was over. NOW Itās up to $75! I called to try and find a ānewā suitable package & price, I didnāt want to add any services, and Really just wanted the same exact service. A modest increase, is understandable. But to go from 53 to 75 is nearly almost 50% increase. That is ridiculous donāt even get me started on these late charges. If you are two days late, they will charge you $10. That is a 20% fee against the principal, For my specific Internet service. Mind you initially, they told me that the $10 late fee would not be applied unless you were over 30 days late. Then I am told by a different person that is not the case, and for some reason specifically for me I only get a two day grace period. Credit card companies do not even act in this corrupt manner. This is not a credit card. There should be no Usery going on here. What I mean is that you are not a credit card company, bank, loan officer, and you should not be charging such ridiculous high late fees. You are worse than a payday loan. I donāt see optimum lasting much longer, especially after the flood of phone calls that the BBB will be getting, along with contacting state legislators about your practices punishing people for being two days late with a 20-25% interest rate on a late fee. In tenant landlord court, the landlord is not allowed to by law to charge more than 5% of the rent rate for a late fee. So I donāt know how a Internet provider can get away with this. Back to ānegotiations ā Again,being that I am a loyal customer, they start throwing numbers as high as 100 and $115. Is this how they reward loyal customers? By flat out lying to them, and doubling and tripling prices. Dumb dumb dumb.Yes I think I will be changing providers. The people that answer the phone, have no knowledge about anything that I ask them, (how convenient) and they act like they donāt want to work with you! and then they tell me certain departments are closed. So yeah changing Services is going to be some thing I have to do. It wasnāt like this before, I donāt know who took over, but they need to resign immediately, because they are screwing over their consumers! Fios, xfinity, or spectrum it will be... toodles!

I began the service in April and I have only had issue after issue with these people. They are quick to take your money and bill you but not to provide a good service. Its been over a month and the 2nd box is still not working not that it ever did work only one box was programmed correctly and it took the tecnichian over 3 hours to install this. He said he didn;t have a ladder with him, who goes to install cable and internet to a house and doesn't have a ladder. Due to this he did a terrible job. He first drilled holes everywhere and because he supposably didn't have a ladder. I even had to provide him with a ladder because he was too lazy to get the ladder from his truck becuase I did see him get his ladder to do the connection in the streets. It is now May 14th and it's always a story to come and program the box. RUNNNNN ......DO NOT CHOOSE OPTIMUM this COMPANY ITS NOT WORTH THE HASSEL AND THEY AINT EVEN CHEAP. Ā Ā Ā Read moreI scheduled an appointment with a live agent for Friday 2pm to 5pm and my husband waited from 1pm until after 5pm and no one came or called. I contacted Optimum and they tried to reschedule for the following Thursday, days away. I asked several times what facility was open on Saturday and was given the website for locations. I asked if the information was up-to-date because it shows hours stating they were closed on the Memorial Day. He said yes they were up-to-date. So today here I am all the way in Elizabeth, NJ one of the 2 facilities that says it has Saturday hours and it's closed. I got to meet several other confused customers who was told this location was open. The most helpful people I talked to at optimum was the guy that took my money and gave me the no show appointment and the 4th person that attempted to contact the other open location in Wall, NJ and he truthfully told me couldn't. I applaud that last guy. All I want is the truth can you help me no, ok then. I won't waste my time running in circles. I will work on this Monday when the place next to my house is open.
