IHOP — Restaurant in Elizabeth

Share with y'all my experience. First of all it took 15 minutes to be seated when there was no one in the restaurant waiting and the maitre d' was standing around talking until some Spanish folks came in go figure that. Second of all the waiter was rude like he did not have time because it was a party of 10 in the back part of the restaurant that he was waiting on but why come to my table if you don't have time to take the orderOr have an attitude because I have a question about something on the menu number three my husband steak omelette was Luke warm... I'm not that trusting of people to ever send food back when service is bad from the beginning.. and I don't like it when a supervisor covers up for her workers by saying they don't speak English she spoke English just fine to me, I'm talking about the cashier maitre d that seats the people. And they may be inspected because I'm going to launch a full report of the service and the hospitality because they did not know until I had to tell her at the very end I was a mystery shopper. I gave everything a one but I wish there was a zero that I could have pressed. IHOP Elizabeth do better all the reasons why I did not leave a tip oh and the silverware were not properly cleaned. I always ask people please ask for a cup of hot water to sterilize...

I came in with my girlfriend of 4 years. Yes ihop. Because we both like their food. This ihop did not seat us when the restaurant was open. We were seated eventually. 25 minutes later after waving down several waiters(waitresses) someone approached and said oh the girl who was supposed to serve you i dont know where she went. So this guy comes to assist us and there was no utensils at the table . Ordered coffee didnt get cream or a spoon to stir. When our food arrived over an hour later there still was no utensils. We waited 20 more minutes after asking 3 times for utensils. I could not find it in my heart to see this deserving of a good tip. I tipped $1 on. $22 food bill. I just couldn't. They cooked the eggs bacon and hash browns soggy with bacon grease. Its not satisfying to believe your one cheat meal can cause a heart attack. I can never return here and hope everyone takes my advice. There is an ihop not far from here its by the jersey gardens mall and they are more organized and professional. I would like to first thank God for the gift of choice, cuz I'm never stepping another foot into this place. I brought my kids here who were visiting from out of state and I must say, with deep regret and sadness, that this was the first restaurant I negligently and stupidly brought them to. The atmosphere and environment is deplorable; 9000 staff members standing around judging every single customer that walked in; I'd say at minimum, many are possibly racist towards those who don't look like them (particularly those of a darker hue). Additionally, it took far too long, after being seated, to get a waitress who, by the way, only checked on us once. I actually had to ask another server, who pretended to not understand English, if I could get the check so we could get the hell out of there. On top of that, the food was awful.
