I went to the doctor yesterday and noticed a Walgreens (Elizabethton, TN.) on the way. I decided to transfer all my prescriptions there, since it was closer than the Walgreens in Piney Flats, where I have been a very happy customer for many years. So, when I left the doctor's office, I asked them to call in my prescriptions to the Eliz. Walgreens. I figured that by the time I drive there, it should be filled. After sitting in the drive-through line, I thought it might be faster if I just go inside. So, after standing in line, I checked, but the pharmacy assistant said that it hadn't been called in yet. So, I go to the parking lot and called the doctor's office, but they told me that I had six prescriptions and they had been called in over 45 mins. ago! After standing in line again, they said that they had found it and it would be ready in just a few minutes. I go to sit down and waited for them to call my name. They never did. So, I go and stand in that darn line again!..... To make a very long story short, I waited well over an hour and half, stood in that stupid line six times and finally I admit it. I just lost it! Normally, I'm a calm man and usually try to be courteous to others, but every man has his limits. This Walgreens pharmacy breached my limits!!!! I finally got sick and tired of talking to that counter girl, with her continually giving me lame reasons as to why I don't have my prescription after such a long waite! I demanded to talk to the pharmacist. When she came to the counter, she came up with all these excuses, explaining why they are so slow. Most definitely, this place has a severe management problem!!! This is an ongoing problem and management has dropped the ball. As for me, I will never, EVER darken their doors again!!!!!! Evidently, you can't post your review unless you give them at least one star or I would have given them...

Never before has this happened to me personally, and of course being in the health care field myself, I rarely trust allogations like this. If I had not seen it myself, I would be skepticle, but this pharmacy has been nothing but problems. They never have rx ready when they send alert. Wait times are sometimes an hour long, just to wait in the line. They never have a prescription that my 6 year old has to have daily. The rx started off on the 5th of the month and the last month filled, the date had passed the 20th. A daily rx, Over 15 days behind schedule! But nothing tops shorting peoples' medication. Such an easy crime to commit since it is never taken seriously. I am only rating here to let others know, MAKE THEM COUNT YOUR RX OUT IN FRONT OF YOU EVERY SINGLE TIME! I Know this seems timely, on top of the hour wait, but it is the only way to keep THEM FROM STEALING. REGARDLESS OF THE FACT THAT THEY ARE RECORDED AT ALL TIMES, THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING FOR YOU ONCE YOU HAVE LEFT WITH THAT RX. DUE TO THE CONSTANT RECORDING, MY FAMILY MEMBER PLANS ON FILING A POLICE REPORT AS WELL AS REPORTING THE PHARMACIST TO THE BOARD. COORPORATE HAS BEEN REPORTED TOO, HOWEVER, DUE TO PAST ISSUES BEING REPORTED, I DO NOT SEE THAT ROUTE BEING HELPFUL. I ONLY WANT PEOPLE TO BE AWARE OF THE SITUATION GOING ON IN OUR COMMUNITY WITH THIS PHARMACY. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO BE STOLEN FROM BY THEIR PHARMACY AND THEN BE SHAMED FOR IT AFTERWARDS. IF ITS HAPPENED TO ONE PERSON IT HAS HAPPENED TO MORE! DO NOT RISK IT. MAKE THEM...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreKnowledgeable pharmacists that always takes time to explain issues that might be difficult to understand or just questions in general, etc. Staff is nice and helpful too. They even come out and help you find OTC items on the shelves and tell you about them.
I LOVE the hours / schedule. Open ALL the time 24/7 except for Christmas, I think. I come and go at all times and days so this is my Go To place.
I get my Rx's here, lots of misc items for home and food as well. Prices are a little high but I look for sales and use their coupons and it is affordable that way.
They are so busy it is unreal. They do a great job considering their work load. š I think they do not have the support they need and deserve from the general office or wherever these decisions are made.
They (the headquarters) also needs to allocate funds to fix the toilets in the Ladies room. They are ALWAYS clogged / not working, etc! I obviously don't know about the Men's room. The lights in the parking lot do not work correctly either!
A lot of customers complain about the staff but I don't think they consider these things. I hope the main headquarters sees this review!!
