I just came home as an inpatient. I was admitted due to Hypoxic respiratory failure from COVID-19/Pneumonia. The first few days were good. After that, the moment I made my first complaint went very bad for me. I was treated like dirt by a majority of the nurses after that. I have CPTSD so they just marked everything off to anxiety. While I admit I have bad anxiety. I couldn’t breathe and that wasn’t anxiety. They also caught on that I am quite knowledgeable and I don’t shut my mouth when it comes to advocating for myself or anyone else. They left me unmonitored as a respiratory patient and lied to me telling me I was being monitored. With what?! It was invisible. There was a vial of unamindestered medicine left in my arm with a needle all day. Medication that was dropped, I needed to correct something with that. I was told everyone makes mistakes we are all human. Never, should that ever happen. There is absolutely no excuse for that. Oh and in case there were other people that had loved ones in there my same time frame, there were nurses coming in without appropriate PPE because they just simply didnt want to gear up! So your loved ones life was placed in danger. I am so sorry. To the nurses that did care, there were a few I commend you. Diana you absolutely rock and make an incredible nurse!!!!! Keenan, Miriam, Courtney, and Ashley along with Michael thank you so much for the compassion you showed to me.Your respiratory team is top notch!!!!! To the CNA who had no respect for myself or other patients, if something happens to someone’s loved one because of your actions I PRAY you are held accountable! To physical and occupational therapy, I didn’t get to work with you until today when I went home, but I commend you. I felt you did a very thorough evaluation in a very limited amount of time. To Dr U. You absolutely rock and please do keep on pushing the staff to do their jobs because they need it!!! Had you been my doctor sooner I believe I’d be home oxygen free! And I definitely would have had a shower. To the nurse that wheeled me out, not the CNA…you cut my oxygen off, and others witnessed it. I will be speaking with the adminstrator!!!!!!!!
I would like to add a couple things. There was an emergency that came up with me. It was handled very promptly and with compassion. Katelyn I thank you for the compassion you showed to me that night and previous nights. You are an outstanding CNA! To Rayne the medical assistant with Respiratory you are amazing and you are going to make a phenomenal respiratory therapist! Tonya you are incredible as well! To the CNA that wheeled me out you are also a wonderful CNA. I enjoyed our conversations and I thank you. Miriam I pray you found your pulse ox. It was not in my room. I would never take something like that. I have my own and even if I didn’t I would never take something like that. Home health has started. I’ll meet my nurse this week along with pt/ot and a home health social worker to help guide and advocate for me. The nurse who did my assessment told me not to buy any medical supplies. He wrote down things he says are absolutely necessary and they will fight my insurance to get them covered. Including a grab bar etc. I also now know I do qualify for a personal care worker it’s just a matter of a little time which they are trying to speed up. My Sats are great on 3 both ambulatory and resting, Time to...
Read moreI believe Dr. Marwan Tahir Powers (his name is publicly available via WebMD and CFV Health website) has displayed behaviors that I cannot endorse. While I won’t make disparaging remarks in a review, I do feel it is important to share my experience. I found this doctor to be inconsiderate, rude, and impatient. During my visit, he treated me dismissively, with little regard for my concerns. He spent only about three minutes with me, and during that short time, I felt belittled, talked down to, and dismissed. He seemed more focused on my financial situation, even suggesting that I pawn some of my belongings in order to afford specialized care. This response felt insensitive and inappropriate, as he failed to address my medical needs with the attention and empathy I expected.
I have never encountered a healthcare professional as difficult to interact with as this doctor. While I understand that some patients may misuse emergency services, it is important to remember that many people seek help at the ER for legitimate reasons, or because they are unable to see a primary care provider. It is unfair to treat patients poorly based on assumptions about...
Read moreSomeone once told me that they wouldn't take their dog to this hospital. I just figured out why. I left there with the distinct impression that I was a nuisance and they didn't care about my issue. The staff is cranky and the doctor is simply indifferent. I am sooo glad I had a witness with me should it become necessary in future legal proceedings.
For all the staff reading this...the people who walk into that ER are there because they need help and making them feel like they are cattle in a herd is unacceptable. I hope each and every one of you get to experience healthcare like you provide. But, you won't because you're part of the system and will not be treated like you treat your patients.
What I learned today is that if I am in dire need for health care... I will not receive it at your hospital. I hope you sleep well at night knowing that you were able to treat another human being so callously. Remember that someday that could be you in that gown and I sincerely hope that the medical "professionals" treat you with more dignity than you...
