Over the Christmas and New Year's holiday I was in the area visiting my parents and I had these guys replace the screen on my iPhone 7. The repair was supposed to be done in 2 hours, so I gave them 2 1/2 to get it done. When I arrived to pick it up, they still did not have it ready. They said that they had to replace the screen twice because they were having issues with "Ghost Touching". Once they gave it back to me, he said that if it starts doing it again, to bring it back. Well before that evening it was hanging up on calls, changing screens so quickly that it would make you nauseous. The next morning I took it back and showed them what it was doing. They said give them 30 minutes and it would be fixed. I told them I was going down the street to grab a coffee and donut. The owner asked if I could bring him and his tech back a couple of donuts and I said sure. He offered to give me money for them, but it was only going to be a few bucks, so I said "I got it, no worries". They replaced the screen and I went back to Lexington where I live. The phone started acting up a few weeks ago, but I was not back in the E-Town area so I just hoped it would not get worse until I could take it back. This past week, it completely became useless. The screen was flickering, changing screens, and hanging up calls. I took it to the Apple store and had them replace the screen and amazingly the phone works just like a new one. Yesterday I was back in the E-Town area going to visit family and stopped back the Hometown Wireless where I originally had the screen replaced. I explained to them what happened and asked if there was any possibility of getting a partial refund. I was told, no the only thing that they would do is warranty the screen and since it was already replaced they would do nothing.
Anyone with a cracked screen, I would recommend to have it replaced by an authorized repair facility with original OEM equipment. These aftermarket parts are sub-quality and trying to save a few bucks is not worth the headaches and trouble.

Read moreCalled cell pharmacy Rx last week and they didn't have the screen I needed. (Black, iPhone 5c) they recommended a guy here. I called and he told me he could have my screen fixed in no time. I show up, get the screen fixed, and leave. 100$ and about 12 hours later(letting the phone reset and restore) I unlock it and the keyboard wouldn't work for messages. I set it down planning to call the wireless store Monday and troubleshoot. Picked the phone up the next morning and it has two pressure cracks through the glass. Not pressure cracks from the outside, pressure cracks from the inside. I called and explained my situation as they have a 30 day warranty on their repairs, to my knowledge at least.
I was told I couldn't be believed on the accusation that I broke the brand new screen and digitizer in it within 12 hours of paying to have it fixed. Odd.
I called cell pharmacy Rx and they ordered the screen right away and came and picked up my broken phone, that I just replaced three days prior.
Under little investigation, simply because they know how to remove the screen, it was found that two screws were in the wrong place, and one wrong screw fried parts of the motherboard, and the other cracked the screen from beneath. I do hope you take this into consideration when choosing where you spend your money seeing that Im out of my money for a 12 hour fix, and overall a phone broken more than it was when I brought it to this establishment to have I fixed. Thank you, hometown wireless, for caring about your customers, your products, your technical work, and for ruining my phone.
Wouldn't go back to this place if it was the last phone store in...
Read moreI purchased a used IPhone 8 on August 11,2020 from Hometown Wireless. The young boys that waited on me led me to believe that they purchase these phones from Bluegrass when a customer brings them back within 14 days. So thinking this phone has only been used for 14 days max, I purchased it. The boys told me I could bring it back within 7 days. Immediately the battery would drain down fast and the maximum capacity is 85% on a phone that supposed to be only 14 days old. Also I had 5 or 6 calls in a 2 or 3 day period where the phone had such static that nobody could hear me. So since I was told that I had a 7 day warranty, I went to Bluegrass and purchased a new IPhone SE. When I went to return the used iPhone 8 to Hometown Wireless on day 7 of my warranty, they told me the 7 day warranty was for repairs or replacement. At no time did they ever explain that it was for repair or replacement until I tried to return it. They would not return my money for a defective phone. The manager or owner was very rude and arrogant. They are very dishonest!!!! At the bottom of the receipt, it states “All used phones have a 7 day warranty”. Nowhere on the receipt does it state for repairs or replacement. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HOMETOWN WIRELESS...CROOKS!! I would not recommend them to anyone and once again CROOKS!! What had happened to customer service...WHAT A...
