Tasty Catering — Local services in Elk Grove Township

I highly recommend Tasty Catering! They are just plain awesome! I have used them for my company’s events numerous times in the past 2 years. They are amazing! The food is great at any budget and they have a ton of variety. Obviously the more you spend, the better tasting the food will be, but the lower costing items are still good. Some of our events had a very small budget and TC was still able to accommodate us. Both our employees and customers alike enjoy their food.

Not only do they have a large variety of food, but they have numerous table and utensil set-ups/upgrades. We host a large customer event every year and we choose to upgrade to the Upscale Presentation to make our event more formal and professional. They offer so many different styles, colors, designs, etc. It’s a great touch that everyone seems to really enjoy and appreciate.

The service, both in office and delivery/set up are amazing! Everyone is super friendly and helpful. They are always in constant contact with us and available at any time with questions, concerns or issues. Sometimes, yes, we can get a little needy and we need to order more things on the fly and TC always pulls through! Not once have we been unsatisfied, not once have they given us attitude or have been rude. I recently placed an order for a 30-Day testing session. I placed my order on the Friday before the event and received all my quotes by the end of that day! It didn’t matter that I had placed my order so late, they were able to accommodate our request. The staff is fast and efficient! Also, I did not have time to sit and go over what foods we’d like, so I just gave them my budget and they put together a very satisfying menu. We are only on day 2 of the testing session and we already have numerous compliments on the catering.

We used Tasty Catering for our wedding reception in June of 2022. Like many couples, we had to reschedule our 2021 wedding and Tasty Catering made the changes without hesitation.

Our representative, Hannah, was such a pleasure to work with. From day one, her emails and Zoom calls were always professional and took care of all our needs. We planned our wedding from out-of-town and Hannah made it a breeze. She was happy to mail us samples of their linen choices and photos of the chair upgrades.

We were able to do a tasting prior to our wedding and enjoyed the experience. The staff helped us plan our menu to make the most sense of protein, vegetable, and starch pairings. The tasting was done privately in an inviting space.

Our venue required us to use Tasty Catering and both teams complimented each other very well. Their day-of manager was great about communicating with our coordinator to ensure the schedule was being kept. We had 80 guests and their singular bartender was able to keep up with demand without issue.

Tasty provided passed appetizers, open bar, table-side wine service for dinner, and main meal (with salad). We opted to bring our own desserts as we thought the Tasty package was a bit too rich for our budget. Considering we had a wedding cake, our dessert option proved to be a good call. For entrees, we had three options for guests. Ten of our guests were vegan and Tasty did not upcharge us for a fourth meal. We chose the champagne toast addition and Tasty had the glasses full and ready. The Tasty staff helped us break down our decor at the end of the night which was much appreciated.

I was on the fence about posting a review but felt others needed to be aware of our experience whether it be good or bad.

I will say the food was good. The tasting worked out well. The office personnel were nice, while some email responses were slow at times.

Onto the reception, there were some disappointments. Tasting Catering is a preferred vendor for Oak Brook Bath and Tennis so we decided to go with them since they are familiar with the venue and layout.

We had ordered pasta with Vodka Sauce since many guests were sensitive to red sauce. While the owner assured me it was vodka sauce, many guests at the wedding had stated it was definitely red sauce. There is a distinct different in taste, texture and color between the two. Not sure how there could be confusion.

The 2nd issue was major. My now wife had created a specialty drink for the guests which was posted at the bar to try. I and a bunch of other guests had noticed the posted drink sign kept "falling over". So I would stand it back up whenever I saw it face down. Come to find out the bartender did not want to make the drink so he would place the sign face down so people did not see it. He would also tell the guests he ran out of ingredients to make the drink. I heard this from many guests the next morning. How do you have the nerve to do something like that?!

After discussing with their ownership, we were credited a certain amount for the inconvenience and apparently the bartender was fired for his actions.
