I LOVE POTBELLY’S ! Stepping into the Potbelly Sandwich Shop in Champaign, Illinois, for the first time was more than just a meal; it was an initiation. The year escapes me now, somewhere between six and eight years ago, but the memory is as vivid as if it were yesterday. I ordered their Italian, a classic I often gravitate towards, but this wasn't just any Italian sandwich. It was a revelation, a symphony of premium meats, the crispest greens, and spices that danced on the tongue, creating a flavor profile so distinct, so unmistakably Potbelly's, that it has haunted my culinary dreams ever since. The rarity of Potbelly's locations has made each subsequent visit feel like a pilgrimage. Walking into the shop, I'm immediately enveloped in an atmosphere that's both comforting and exhilarating—a unique blend of Southern hospitality with Chicago street-style energy and authentic Italian flair. The iconic potbelly stove logo gleaming in the window, surrounded by vintage photographs, transports me back to that first, unforgettable sandwich, setting the stage for what I know will be another extraordinary experience. The staff, though not overly effusive, are efficient and kind, expertly crafting our to-go order with impressive speed and precision. But the real magic happened when I unwrapped my BBQ Mac & Cheese sandwich. I've sampled countless iterations of these classics from Iowa to Texas, Florida to California, but this creation was in a league of its own. The first bite was an explosion of creamy, decadent cheese—a masterful blend of multiple varieties—paired with tender, succulent pork drenched in a sweet and tangy BBQ sauce that harmonized perfectly with the rich macaroni and cheese. I devoured it in record time, each mouthful a testament to the culinary genius at work. If you're a Potbelly's newbie, trust me: start with the Italian or the BBQ Mac & Cheese. And whatever you do, don't leave without trying their homemade cookies. The chocolate brownie and s'mores varieties are simply divine—so good, in fact, that you might as well get both. Thank you, Potbelly's, for consistently exceeding expectations and creating sandwiches that are not just food, but unforgettable experiences.

I ordered the BLTA (original size sandwich) and there was the smallest piece of avocado on one end of the sandwich. It's frustrating that on a sandwich that has only 4 ingredients on it, 1 ingredient was almost non-existent, especially when paying as much as it costs, for just the 1 sandwich. Otherwise, the sandwich was good....but it was essentially just a BLT. I've gotten this same sandwich, from another location, and it was covered, from end to end, with all ingredients, including avocado, so it was very disappointing to have so little, on the sandwich I got today.

*ONE STAR REVIEW* Ordered the BLTA which clearly reads on their menu APPLEWOOD BACON but instead the bacon used was heavily caked with black pepper. Would've avoided this sandwich if the description read black pepper bacon. Had to pull the bacon off the sandwich and found it to be not much there yet very fatty. Apparently, ordering from this restaurant was a mistake.

Placed an order this past week in the app for a lunchtime pickup. Pickup time was 12:25 pm so I left work and drove 1 1/2 miles to pick up my order. When I arrived the place was packed. I waited at the pick up area until 12:43 pm without anybody ever even asking whether I wanted to pick up something. Customers in line for a regular order we’re being taken care of and customers in the drive-through as well. I then had to leave without getting my lunch although I had prepaid. While I have been reimbursed in the meantime and I do understand that lunchtime is busier than usual, I am still very upset about the lack of coordination and customer service. I never received an apology. I did try to complain to corporate without that I ever even heard anything so I am definitely an...

I work in a different city compared to a couple months ago and was happy to find a potbelly down the street but not only does it take a lot longer to get food at this establishment but I tried to order a meatball sandwich and was told the meatballs will be ready for a few minutes, ok so I said I'll try the roast beef with lettuce tomato and a little bit of mayo. The drive-thru was taking forever so I pulled around and went inside to get it no one at the drive-thru new about my order because somehow they made me a meatball sandwich with lettuce tomato and mayo and didn't even add my cheddar broccoli soup I walked out and went to McDonald's because I didn't have time for them to make it...
