Horrible service! They never have anything and most of their "sale" items are overpriced. Go figure. Mega corporations price gouging as per usual insert eye roll. That's not the only reason I am writing this review right now. I just got done shopping at this kroger due to having to grab some things and I was in a time crunch so I reluctantly stopped into this particular store and shockingly they had a couple registers open with actual employees which I normally am always stuck with self checkout since they typically only have one cashier, if that even in the Elkhart IN Kroger locations. I wish I would have just waited in the long self checkout line if I knew the cashier was going to be in such a horrible mood and rude af to me. I had water and some 2 liter sodas plus the deal for 4 6packs of coke products and I had 3 cokes and 1 ginger ale. Right off the back, there was NO greeting of "Hi, how are you, Welcome to Kroger, etc" nor smile. She snapped at me right off the back saying I need to remove my 24pk of water off the belt. I had to ask what she meant since she I honestly didn't understand her at 1st and was quite shocked and put off with her attitude. Then she was crabbing about me putting more than one type of soda up on the belt. As if it was going to kill her to have to scan the damn thing. Lady, you chose to work at a store as a cashier. If you don't like it, get a new job! There are plenty of other places hiring. Or go work in the back and not deal with customers. She seen someone she knew as she was about done checking me out and she started talking all friendly to her "friendy friend" which was one of her kinds of people. Apparently she didn't like the way I looked or something. I was waiting for my receipt as she gabbed away to her friend. I am VERY disappointed in thus store and will NOT be back. I think I'll go to Martin's for now for my stuff. My significant other likes the generic soda so that's the only reason I go there since they don't sell any generic dr pepper at Martin's but they are clean, in stick and have a classier aesthetic than the trashy store that Kroger has become. I say boycott Kroger! They are...
Read moreThis has been our mainstay for local groceries but lately the experience has been very poor. Within the last 6 months they installed security cameras with attached screens at the ends of most aisles and all over the self checkout space with one huge one beyond the registers. The screens flash "You are being recorded" or similar any time they see movement. I feel like a criminal being under such tight surveillance.
The produce selection has really diminished in the last year. An employee told me that was because whatever they could not sell they stopped ordering. This makes sense, economically, but it means that I'm now missing all sorts of winter vegetables and we're getting really bored of the limited offering in the produce section. It's hard to eat healthy at this Kroger.
In other areas of the store, like the dairy, they do stock products we do want but these products are very frequently out-of-stock so we can't depend on these products being available.
There's a deli worker who is always rude and uninterested in serving us. If we stand around long enough that she notices us she still makes us feel like we're a tremendous inconvenience to her.
The self checkout lanes usually have 1-2 machines (of 6) that are not functional and the attendant is never very attendant. When the machines have a problem we have to go seek out the attendant and either get him/her off his/her cell phone or interrupt chit chat with another employee to get some assistance.
Finally, the straw that is breaking my back: the last 4 times we have purchased OREOs from this location, 90% of the cookies have been broken in the package! Do the night time stockers or their shippers have no respect for my cookies?!
I don't know if it's management or simple apathy and erosion but this Kroger location is only keeping our business with sheer geographical convenience and...
Read moreThe worst pharmacy experience I've ever had. DO NOT use the pharmacy. Called at 1130 for refills on my medication for preeclampsia and gestational diabetes and they told me to give them till three to fill it. I paid for an Uber to take me there at 4....to find out they never processed the refill at 1130 even though I had called three times to make sure they were going to be ready that afternoon. Instead of taking my high risk pregnancy into consideration nor the fact I wasted $25 to get there, they blew me off and laughed in my face, then ignored me. I now have to wait another day for their neglect. For my child's safety I have moved my whole profile to Walmart Pharmacy and Krogers has lost a very loyal customer for many years. Just a day my pregnancy is at risk now with no insulin and no medications to keep my blood flowing and my unborn child healthy. They never notify you if a medication is having trouble processing. Had I known this many days ago when the refill was put in I would have had it handled. I had to call in myself to find out there was a problem. Sad thing is, I'm not the only one with bad experiences with this pharmacy. They have no empathy nor compassion as pharmacy techs. I can only imagine the rest of the staff. There's a reason why they are becoming obsolete and shutting...
