3 Days in Madrid, 3 visits to this Market. It's not really a typical market, more like a collection of vendors selling their own special items in tapas form. For example, there's a place for coffee and pastries, a place for just dessert, Spanish ham, fresh fruit, yogurt, sushi, croquetas, olives, fried fish and seafood, paella (wouldn't recommend getting here - much better places elsewhere, they microwave it you food like what even), and my personal favorite - fresh mozzarella (SO creamy and fluffly with toppings on top of bread you have to come here just for the moz). It's insane. Not much seating except some tables in the center (usually full) or on the periphery (also hard to find a spot). The first day I went was Sunday around lunch time and the place was so packed you were touching other people shoulder to shoulder. So watch out for pickpockets. On the weekdays, the crowd is gone, but still pretty busy. Usually lines aren't too long and move fast. If you want something to drink non-alcoholic, they have coffee and freshly blended juice, both good options but it's easier to buy a bottle of water at the super market (and way way cheaper too). Everything is relatively inexpensive and the best part is that you get to try so many things. I think the first time we only spent ~20 Euros for two people and we were full. On average, I'd say 3-5 euros per stall. You can't really go wrong with anything. Try everything. Everyone I talked to spoke at least some English. Located conveniently near the plaza...
Read moreDo not recommend eating here. They give you the least amount of meat possible. Tuesday I went through the drive thru got 4 sandwiches in total 2 were roast beefs. Literally got 3 pieces of meat on each. Called to complain as i was ready 15 minutes away when I saw this. Got told rudely that I would have to call and speak to the store manager the next day and washing up on then they stopped answering the phone. Manager replaced my food. Today my husband walks over there for another 12in roast beef for him and our daughter the lady started off by only putting 2 PIECES of meat on the entire thing he asked isn't there supposed to be more on there? Her response was you want more you pay more. She ended up putting on 2 more slices not sure if we were charged for it because she didn't give a receipt on a cash purchase. They used to put 4 "rolls" of meat on a foot long which was like a piece and a half each roll. Will.not return to this store. When you can't even taste the meat what's the point? Don't waste your money. Disappointed this place used to be our go to subway but not anymore. Pics are of the food the big sandwich is today's and the small one was a few days ago. This is ridiculous you can't even...
Read moreThree people working..which was nice to see , so I thought. First Lady wasn’t friendly when taking orders and don’t give you time to even request something without giving an attitude. Both sandwiches were simple and easy. Asked for double meatballs ( double means double ) but I guess that was a problem. Finally went down to next station …paid for my items and forgot the meatballs ( in container) as I remembered the 3rd lady was at counter with meatballs holding it and I told her I forgot the meatballs but already paid..I didn’t want to reach over to grab it from her as it would be rude , so I asked if I can have it ..she looked at me and told me “ it’s right there in front of you !! Um ok …but would it hurt to hand it over so I wasn’t reaching over counter ? I didn’t want to be rude ..sorry ! Unprofessional, no kindness, and I still left a tip !! 🤦🏻♀️ Maybe it will make their day a...
