This company defrauded me. They advertised on their website that they had a board game called Clank! available and I relied on that promise because all other websites listed the game as on backorder. At the time, The Gaming Goat did not list it as backordered (they have since changed their website). I relied on ytheir promise and purchased it online. They charged me a heft shipping fee of $20 (which was 35% of the cost of the game) and I received an email that I would soon receive an update when the game was shipped. I was desperate because I needed the game in 2.5 weeks so I paid the high fees. However, weeks passed and I did not receive any update. 2 weeks later, I reached out because I had heard NOTHING. I told them I needed the game within 1.5 weeks and that they need to give me an update or cancel my order. Their response was horrible, but I needed the game. Another week passed and I was getting more desperate. I was able to find the game elsewhere so I bought it at a higher cost. I emailed Gaming Goat to cancel my order and refund my money, and they did not respond at all. Another 2 weeks passed and I emailed again - they need to refund my money or I will take action. Their response was again horrifying - they were planning to ship me the game when it was received (still not in stock!) and if I wanted to cancel my order, I should let them know (I told them 2 weeks prior) and they would give me store credit. Not acceptable! They defrauded me! Do not shop at this place - they have fraudulent...
Read moreRegrettably I've had to change my review, from five stars to two. I visited the store over the weekend, but before that it had been years since my last visit. I had been a regular while Dane owned the store and still popped in a time or two under the next owners.
But the store, now, is unrecognizable. It's cluttered and disorganized. It's a shadow of the store it once was - and I mean that literally, the lights were off, adding another barrier to actually finding what you were looking for.
Speaking of, their dealings with TCGs seem almost nonexistent anymore. A person in front of me was looking for a simple Evolving Wilds, and it took the two staff members almost ten minutes to find it. Not sure if they ever did, I'd left before they had anyway.
I will give them this. The new owner seems to really know their board games. So there's that. But still I wonder if that's enough to carry on the name of...
Read moreI love this place! In the before time, I was here at least three nights a week. Then after the pandemic started it was down to once a week. Now, it's still in pandemic times and I live an hour away but still I visit one or more times a week. I could go to another TGG shop that's closer ( I can think of two) but the Kyerstin (the manager) and the rest of the crew make the trip worth every minute of driving.
I still regularly see games I've never heard of or imagined and as long as the store isn't full, learning to play a new one is just a request away.
Now even, they've moved three doors down to take over half of what used to be Bocci's. The space is twice the size and they have done a great job of setting it up. It looks good. The selection of minis and mini painting accessories has grown wider and more various. It's exciting to see the space come...
