Had an amazing experience purchasing an engagement here at Cottage Hill Diamonds! I was assisted by all-star jeweler, Malu. If you're looking for an engagement ring, this is the place to start and finish, and I would definitely recommend asking for Malu (although I'm sure the other jewelers are very capable as well!). From the time you walk in it is a very professional experience, door opened for you and greeted and offered a drink. Immediately the staff acknowledges you and is happy to help.
Malu was catered every last step of the process to my needs. I was new to engagement ring shopping, and she taught me every last details about the metals, stones, cuts, clarity, etc... It was very helpful to my shopping process. Malu set up several appointments with me over a couple weeks as my ring was significantly customized. She hunted down stones for me and let me know if there was something I might like. She was efficient and knew her stuff, and wasn't overbearing. Perfect help I wanted in this engagement ring purchasing process. She was able to set an exact custom ring down to the last detail of what we wanted.
Of course I needed to do my due-dilligence, and wanted to shop similar prices for the same ring. Malu understood and held the stone for A WEEK! No other jeweler would've done that for me, especially for me to be looking at competitors for the week. I went down to Jewelers Row in Chicago and went to 4 different jewelers. In all cases, the rings, stones, and experience were higher priced and lower quality. Other jewelers seemed to try to squeeze money out, or sell you lower quality diamonds, or show you too much or too little, and just give you what they have. Other jewelers, it's about them. But at Cottage Hill, it was all about me.
So feel free to look around, but this place gets my gold star, and I can't wait to come back and buy our wedding bands here. Thanks again Cottage Hill, and thank you so much Malu! Much...
Read moreWe are thrilled with the restoration of my wedding ring set! My wonderful husband gave me this gift for our 25th Wedding Anniversary and it is stunning. We went to a number of jewelery stores in the area and were told that restoring the ring is a lot of work and not worth it. After looking at many rings, I just wasn't happy as I didn't want to give up my wedding set. Then we landed at Cottage Hill and Andrew worked with us. He gave us the time and information that no one else did. While looking at all the beautiful rings they had to offer, Andrew noticed how I was trying to find something that mirrored my original set and asked why don't you consider a restoration so you can continue to enjoy this sentimental piece? We love to do restorations here and we can make this ring set stunning! And they did! I have included before and after pictures below. The bands aremarried together, crushed baquettes are replaced, the gold is polished and of course the marquette (that I always wanted) added and protected in a very strong setting. I want to say how fun the storage box is! It actually has a small spotlight in it! LOL! I love that! I've received so many compliments and I feel like a princess when I wear it! When we picked up the ring, the staff was genuinely so happy for us. They made this extremely special for us on so many levels. Then Andrew followed up with me in a week to make sure we were happy and everything was okay! The customer service, care and knowledge is second to none! They are truly committed to making you happy and creating a strong personal/business relationship with their customers. We will be back with other pieces and look forward to creating something unique again while maintaining integrity and sentimental value. Thank you Andrew and Cottage Hill! We look forward to working...
Read moreMy wife's engagement ring was somehow damaged and my first thought was 'uh oh... not insured.' Where do I go to get it fixed? I have lived in Elmhurst for over 20 years and pass Cottage Hill Diamonds a couple times a month when I drive through downtown Elmhurst. I had never stopped in before, but I visited one day to see if they could help. They definitely did and I realized I should have dropped by years ago. Here's why:
I was greeted by Kyle Hill, who was very cordial. I explained my situation and he gave me plenty of options. The diamond was chipped at one corner, but was salvageable. It just needed to be recut. I also decided to upgrade the setting and add a couple more smaller diamonds since our 10 year anniversary is coming up. The diamond was sent out to the cutter and they did such a nice job on the cut that the clarity turned out better than when I originally bought the diamond.
Kyle really helped me out to keep the price fair. He sent me emails to keep me updated on progress. He also gave me an appraisal when the ring was finished and helped me to fill out an (affordable) insurance policy in case anything were to happen to the ring again.
Everything turned out fantastic and my wife loved the (wink, wink) "new" ring. Kyle even sent a card in the mail as a thank you. I don't remember a jeweler ever doing that. Kudos.
A few other notes:
Every time I stopped in, there was always this warm and inviting feeling to the place. Everyone who works there enjoys what they do and were always happy to strike up a conversation about anything. They had a wide variety of items on display and if they didn't have something, they would be happy to find it and order it.
In my opinion this has been the best jeweler I have...
