Sadly, this facility is one of the most mismanaged facilities I have ever come across. I know this because I work in the medical field. I booked an appt for an MRI and then a couple of days prior to the MRI, they outright canceled it VIA a TEXT MESSAGE. To make matters worse I get a telephone call from an authority figure at the facility. They canceled my MRIâŚthe front desk told me that it was âa waste of moneyâ and âa waste of insuranceâ as well as a few other things that were said. This facility came very highly recommended by Columbia University Medical Ctr, so they are indeed aware of what has transpired with the denial of my MRI which the drs WANTED. To deny a patient an MRI because they state that âit wonât provide the proper pictureâ is not acceptable. The 2 oncologists couldnât believe the way I was treated and this is an embarrassment to them because they are the ones who recommended me to the facility. When a patient has an issue and the doctor purposely writes the script in a certain manner, thatâs the way itâs supposed to be performed. NJ Imaging of Englewood Cliffs did not do that. They thought they can act as both judge and jury and sadly, they did. The person of authority is one of the most condescending people I have ever spoken to on the phone. Trying to toss all different scenarios as to why, and excuse after excuse as to why they do not wish to perform the test & stating that they are only âconcerned about my healthâ yadda yadda, but if you look at the prescription that was sent to them it specifically said non-contrast. Again, one of the most unprofessional places I have ever dealt with. I have called the AMA regarding this as they was highly unprofessional. I have worked in the medical field since Iâm in my 20s and this has got to be one of the worst places I have ever dealt with. Donât waste your time by going here because they will do the same thing to you. I didnât mind uploading all of my paperwork to the portal as itâs user friendly and not a problem, but what I do mind is getting a phone call from an authority figure who starts giving me lines of rubbish, well, that I do mind. Unfortunately, I see things like this every day being in the medical field. I see the way patients are treated. I see the way they are denied a needed diagnostic test. In my case, Iâm thinking that perhaps maybe this is all about the dollar. Perhaps they saw my coverage wasnât a âprivate insuranceâ company and they werenât going to make enough money to cover the usage of the MRI. Perhaps my coverage didnât meet their so called âcriteria.â But regardless, I do not recommend them at all. Columbia U has been notified as well as the two oncologists. A complete embarrassment, a complete waste of my time. My husband and I work very hard. Iâm on call a lot and itâs very hard for me to get a day off. We both took off for a day which we had to put in for, only to be turned away two days prior to the test. Absolutely miss run. Unprofessional. I donât have any nice words for them except for the initial female who took my initial intake. I donât know her name, but she was very kind. Everybody else, no. Worst experience of a lifetime. Also to refer to Dr. Weber, who is the radiologist at my hospital as being nothing more than a highly decorated, want-to-be imaging tech is beyond belief. And to send me a text message, asking me to reschedule when in all actuality, already canceled my appointment. Simply...
Read moreI provided my automobile insurance information and accident claim number, but the check-in process took approximately 30 minutes. During this time, lady on the right who engaged in lengthy discussions about her personal experiences and complaints regarding her job, which not only delayed my processing but was also unprofessional and distracting. Due to the time wasted, I was required to return the next day for an additional X-ray, as she was unable to process the doctorâs orders efficiently. Furthermore, I encountered a similarly unpleasant experience during my annual ultrasound appointment for my thyroid. The staff member who assisted me, an another lady on the left, displayed rudeness when I inquired whether the ultrasound was unrelated to my auto accident and should be processed through my personal health insurance. Instead of responding politely, she interrupted me by placing her hand in front of my face and stating, âWait! I cannot check you in and check the insurance at the same time; one at a time.â This abruptness was not only unnecessary but also disrespectful. When I later sought clarification regarding my insurance after the exam, her response was dismissive and unprofessional. When I asked her, she simply said, 'What?' Such interactions are concerning, as they detract from the patient experience and create an environment that feels unwelcoming and disorganized. In contrast, I have observed that the Asian staff members at your facility are consistently calm, kind, and professional, especially when assisting elder Asian patients who does not speak English well. Their ability to work smoothly and efficiently stands in stark contrast to my experiences with others. It is crucial for all staff members, particularly those at the front desk, to uphold a standard of professionalism and courtesy, as they are often the first point of contact for patients. I hope you will take my feedback seriously and address these issues to ensure a more positive experience for all patients...
Read moreThis was my second time at this location. Both times, making the appointment was easy. And the front desk (although not the friendliest) are efficient.
Compared to the first time, the waiting room was PACKED. It sounded like the mammogram appointments were falling behind. Therefore, there were people standing in the waiting room. It also may be due to the fact that it was a Veterans day so people made an appointment on their day off.
I wasnât there for a mammogram but still had to wait around 20 minutes past my appointment time to be seen. Which isnât bad at all. I do suggest to come 15-20 minutes earlier than your appointment time (as they also advice you to do when you make the appointment) because once you sign in (if itâs busy) youâll need to wait, then theyâll call you up to verify your insurance info and have you fill out paperwork. And then once they have everything, youâll wait until itâs your turn to be called back. So, although I got called 20 min after my appointment time, it took a total of about 50 minutes from the time I signed in until I got called back (but keep it in mind, it was a super busy day). The first visit here, I think I was in and out of the office within an hour.
They have parking in front and to the side of the building. Both times, I had no problem parking. There is also a bus stop right in front of the building (but unsure which bus route it is).
What made me go back to this particular location is the technician I dealt with both visits. Her name is Jenna and is the sweetest person ever. She is very professional and explains everything thoroughly and makes you feel comfortable during the whole visit.
I would be returning to this location for future imaging that may be required from...
