I purchased a Cocktail Audio receiver from TMR. It was everything I wanted but after a couple of months an intermittent issue cropped up. The support staff at TMR, especially Peter Glenn and Lauren Hawkins couldn't have been more helpful and went to great efforts to get my issue taken care of over a several month period. I never expected this kind of support from an online seller but I couldn't be more pleased.
Update 12/19: One of the key advantages of the X-35 is the ability to digitize analog recordings. Not only have I ripped a couple of hundred CDs but I have now digitized a couple of hundred LPs and over 150 hours of reel-to-reel tapes, cassette tapes and even 8-track tapes. All are now in one database on a 500GB SSD internal drive. It is a slow process as the analog recordings must be played at normal speed to digitize but the X-35 helps the process with a built in app that helps identify and separate the individual tracks, which you can tweak yourself. Also, you must create your own metadata (i.e, individually type in the names of the tracks, artist, composer, genre, etc.). The X-35 also includes an app that lets you search Google, Amazon, Bing, etc. for the album art. It's a lot of work but in the end you have a comprehensive database with all of your music, complete with cover art that is searchable in every possible way. When I first got the X-35 it had some software problems that have been subsequently fixed with updates. The most problematic of these was that you couldn't edit the Tag file or metadata without corrupting the while recording. Now you can edit the Tag file at any time, allowing you to go back and insert additional data. Finally, analog recordings are digitized as CAF files that can't be read anywhere else. I learned to use the X-35 to convert them to WAV files that are readable anywhere. You can also convert them to MP3s if you don't mind the quality degradation of that format. Finally, the X-35 allows you to burn your digitized analog files to a CD, helpful for playing in your car. Overall, I become more and more impressed with the device each...
Read moreI've had three excellent purchasing experiences with the folks at TMR so far. Each time they have all been absolutely terrific to work with and have all been very responsive. Now, my purchases were all really small as I was only in need of some good quality, but highly affordable TOSLINK fiber optic, AC power and USB data cables to upgrade my very modest home A/V setup with, but everyone there at TMR treated me with the same respect as if I was a multi-millionaire spending six figures with them. Two of my purchases were made through the TMRaudio web site. For those orders I scheduled appointment times to drive over to their facility in Erie and pick them up in person. While there (even though I didn't have it scheduled in advance for a tour), Derek was kind enough to show me around their entire very impressive facility. My third purchase was done through one of their listings on eBay and that one arrived earlier today with no issues, a full day ahead of the scheduled/anticipated delivery date. I can't say enough good things about everyone I have worked with there at TMR, either in person or virtually over the web. They clearly take what they do there very seriously and you can see it in how well they execute. Based on my experience with them so far, I would encourage anyone looking for great deals on high-quality, high-end audio equipment to check them out and give them a try. From what I've seen of them so far, they are 100% on top of their game. I'm certain that I'll be doing more business with them here in the near future. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up for...
Read morePurchased a pair of lightly used Klipsch Forte III speakers and had them shipped to Wisconsin.
Purchasing process was super simple. I received a call a day or two after I ordered telling me they upgraded my shipping to FedEx Freight, with liftgate service, free of charge! Andrew in shipping sent me a photo of the speakers ready to go on the pallet along with tracking information. Shipping was my biggest concern with the whole transaction so it was nice they upgraded them instead of sending regular ground shipping.
The speakers arrived at the end of the week wrapped up and strapped to a pallet. FedEx pulled them off with a pallet jack in the driveway. Speakers arrived in perfect shape. They were in all the the original packaging (boxes, styrofoam, etc.) and included all the manuals. They were in fantastic condition upon opening and the website description matched the condition I received them in.
The speakers sound incredible! Best sounding speakers I've ever owned! I always worry about buying used, sight unseen, but in this instance I received exactly what was described and pictured on the website. A well taken care of, lightly used pair of Klipsch Forte III speakers, in near mint condition.
Overall I couldn't be happier with the service and product received! I will definitely consider The Music Room for any further purchases and highly recommend it to others. They really knocked it out of...
