Everson Market — Local services in Everson

I refuse to shop in this awful store. I have had many bad experiences with this store. The manager is VERY rude! They very often do not have items from their ad or coupons. Some cashiers will give a rain check while others claim it is against their policy to do so. I have seen many instances of bait and switch with the ads and coupons. Coupons for meat will have a max number of pounds and they pack all the packages way over the limit so your forced to buy part of the package at regular price. The buy one get one free meat specials are not truly buy one get one. The price per pound is increased on these packages. Which is illegal, Safeway was sued for this same practice. Asked a meat department worker once if they had an item in the back and she asked me if I knew how to cook it and refused to get the item until I assured her that I did. But the final straw was trying to ask the meat department manager a question and he starts yelling at me. When I tried to walk away from him, he chased me down the aisle, got in my face and continued yelling at me and called me a filthy name. He was not happy that I questioned the shady sales tactics. The store manager was gone for the day. Tried to contact him several times and he refused to speak to me. I sent e-mails to the address provided on the website and never received a response. I quit shopping here the day that all stores decided to charge .08 per bag. I entered the store in the morning and went to the one guy who works there (has worked there several years) I went through his line and handed him my bag that I brought in and he said he couldn’t use it, all I heard is I can’t, so I said well just put the yogurt in the carrier and I will take it to the car, he said you can use the bag but I can’t touch it. I was irritated at that point (wondering if he would have said that to a friend or family member) I gave him a lecture about being nice and informed him That I wouldnt shop here again. And haven’t! They have lost about $15 per day from me since I left there months ago. I like the part time people at night but the permanent long term employees are not as helpful as they should be. I asked on several occasions if they could order me extra yogurt because that’s all I could eat after having tongue cancer, they wouldn’t even commit to trying, they felt like they couldn’t do such a thing (woman with long hair and glasses)I would not spend your money at this store, they are so far behind in customer...

I shop at this store because it's the only choice we have here in Everson. The employees are great and friendly. The prices are not so great, the choices, are few for healthy and good quality food. I heard, the rumor is? The owner doesn't want to upgrade the store, because she doesn't want to make Everson more attractive or bigger? She owns 3 or 4 blocks in this town. I'm not sure 100%, but really, this store needs a complete makeover. A "Deli" would be a "huge hit" in this store. Upgrade the meat department. To the store owner.
