Stopped in for a bite to eat on our way out to our yearly visit to Stoney Ridge. Having never have been to this restaurant we relied on reviews, the food looked great and the reviews stood behind that. When my family and I walked in, my wife, 2 kids, baby, grandma and grandpa, totaling 7, we were greeted by a sign that said “please seat yourself” so naturally I walked in, found a table big enough for us and started to sit down. My wife told me that one of the waitresses had asked how many people we had and I did not hear her, I popped back out and apologized and said I saw the sign and came in. The waitress behind the counter rolled her eyes and told me “not for big parties” I apologized again and asked if the table I chose was okay, she responded with “if that’s what you want”. She acted as if it was a HUGE inconvenience that I was in the restaurant. We ended up walking out. It’s a shame the wait staff is so rude, I was really looking forward...
Read moreThis place is open for breakfast on Sundays till 2pm and around here that means it's the only place to eat on a Sunday.
Once you figure out how to access the Cafe the first thing you may notice is the duct tape on the benches. Everything is old and held together with tape and twine and bailing wire.
The Cafe has the authentic greasy spoon feel to it and should you need to use the bathroom it's down a very long and creepy hallway that has what looks like drag marks from all the bodies that have been brought in and dragged down it over the years
The coffee is the usual weak brown water that is served in places with a lot of old people who eat there, but it's hot and there's plenty of it.
The food was good. The service was fast and the food came fast and I wasn't disappointed.

Read moreThis diner is a hidden gem in Everson! The food was absolutely delicious. I have ate here for breakfast and dinner! The omelets are bomb! For dinner I had a crispy chicken ranch wrap and the fries are the best in town! My friend had a BLT with clam chowder and she loved it! The servers, Austin (breakfast) and Jessie (dinner) were incredibly friendly! The owner, Josh, made his rounds throughout the diner talking to his customers and showed great hospitality :) The atmosphere was cozy and nostalgic, just what you'd expect from a classic diner, not to mention the wonderful history of this building. Ask Josh about it sometime! I highly recommend Smokestack Diner! Oh and the raspberry whipped pie was to die for.........
