Terrible customer experience. After 3 trips having to get the measurements correct for my cabinets and counter tops with the cabinet folks the cabinets finally came in. They go to bring them out to me and they are all individual boards wrapped in separate boxes - not put together cabinets. We was never informed of this. I go back in and order another brand of cabinets that are put together.
These cabinets come in a few weeks later and I pick them up. They are all in boxes except one. I asked the guy why is this one was not in a box and he said itâs most likely a custom cabinet and I said I ordered no custom cabinets. I told the guy Iâve had a terrible experience with Menards so far and he looks at me with this completely blank stare and says, âokâ as if he cares more about what heâs having going to have for lunch a month from now than how my experience is with their store.
I get the cabinets home and the one that was unboxed was used and had prior drill holes all through it and the color was way off from the cabinets next to it. The utility cabinet I bought both doors on it are a lighter alloy gray than all of my other cabinets. And the cabinet with the most space also comes with zero shelves that I had to order later. So all other cabinets come with shelves but not the larger cabinet in your kitchen (something you expect usually when youâre buying a cabinet to store food in, crazy I know)
So I return this used cabinet, and another cabinet that was just the wrong size and I told them about the utility cabinet door mismatch. They re-order the two cabinets and the utility cabinet door. One of the two managers of the cabinet division calls me last Tuesday and leaves a voicemail. I call back and speak to a non-manager who I asked to have someone call me back after 4 pm. No call back from them for an entire week. I call back after a week and spoke to the same guy as before that said no manager was in and would have them call me back after 4. No call through Thursday and I go in to pick up my 2 cabinets and ask whatâs up with the utility door re order and no call back.
Spoke with the same guy who I spoke with previously who said no manager was available. The 2 re-ordered cabinets come to find out are used AGAIN!! I asked again for him to have one of their managers call me back after 4 to tell me whatâs going on with the utility cabinet door ordeal and get those other cabinets re-ordered again that were used. The manager calls me at 11 am the next dayâŚâŚ.. unbelievable. This same manager tells me they canât ship this stuff to me for free because Menards would have to pay for it. I kid you not.
I get home today and a door to the utility cabinet was delivered to my house. I get it out and put it up next to the other door and itâs the exact same light color that doesnât match the other cabinets. My oh my.
Iâve had to explain this entire story to at least 5 different people 4 of them in management at Menards. After 8 total trips to this location which is roughly 25 minutes from me one way (nearly 7 hours) and probably 15 hours ordering and dealing with the problems from there needless to say Iâm beyond frustrated. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this location and go to Loweâs or Home Depot that have to know what they are doing better than these guys.
The store manager Andrew is supposed to follow up with me and have the rest of my items shipped to me for free. I will post back and let you know how that goes and how that communication channel is. Also, hoping I donât get the same milk toast response everyone else has received here and something really gets addressed with...
Read moreSo I had bought something from Craigslist, came with receipt and was from Menards, from 2018. Went to return it because wasn't what I needed. Had a Menards Receipt with it from whom I bought it from. Went to return it, got store credit, went about my day. 3 months later, went in to return items my ex had in storage that were in a Menards bag(no receipt) so figured they went to Menards. Went in to return them & the rep said no, they couldn't return them. So I said ok, that's fine. Then it felt so strange like if something wasn't right. Turns out the store employees held in hostage, were being suspicious, did not let me leave the store after saying they couldn't help, did not let me use the bathroom, check on my dog in the car, or even move. They were trying to see "what they can do for me" they stated. I just wanted to leave with my pup. Finally they said I could go check on my dog. I walk out and there is police. Police stop me and ask me questions. I have no idea what's going on. The manager called the cops and said that I "was steeling". I was shocked and started to panic with anxiety. Well the cops arrested me for "theft". Yeah. I told the officer to please call the EMS cause I was out of breath. He didn't care. I was a "thief" they said. I asked again. They came and did not want to help, assumed I "was drunk". Next thing you know, about 4 cops rip me out of the car, the seatbelt wrapped around my neck, officers still pulling me out the car ripping my clothes, throw me on the floor like a rag doll, sticks his knee in my throat, one has his knee on my spine, they flip me over one then sticks his knee in my belly bottom ripping apart my stickes from surgery, and I thought i was going to die, no breath, stomach coming out of me, scared for my life just wanting my mom. Yeah I felt assaulted. They took me to the ER. Gave me a court date and ticket. And took all my belongings. Traumatized. Well Menards then pressed charges on me for returning an item that was not theirs 3 months back with receipt claiming I changed the barcode. I literally bought it from Craigslist not even realizing or having any idea I was commiting a crime I had no idea about what so ever. Menards is "investinging" still. I have no idea why. I did nothing wrong and they accepted the return with no issue. So what did I do? Menards accused me and pressed charges on me for this, they held me hostage against my rights and had me assaulted and traumatized by the cops. I'm still really confused on how a company can even do this. Is it cause I'm Hispanic or Gay or both, or because someone else looks like me or what. I thought Menards was a private property place. I'm confused as well as why if anything I ever did wrong wasn't mentioned. I do know working in retail my whole life, there are steps to doing any kind of accusations like this. Trespass after asking for payment if person did wrong, send a civil demand letter for payment, civil court if anything and abide by the law. Not assume or press charges on someone who did nothing wrong and has no idea of anything wrong full doing. Menards has screwed me for the rest of my life for this and I can't even go back home to Texas because of this. I was just here for a couple weeks. I hope anyone who has read this to wrap your head around what anyone place of business can do to...
Read moreThis was my first time shopping at Menards and I wonât be back. There is a brand, J.R. Watkins, that is sold here and I came to make a purchase. I found the product on the website so I knew it was available in store. I asked an employee if he could direct me to where the brand was located and he looked at his device to âlook upâ the aisle information and after 2 seconds of âlooking it upâ he stated that they didnât carry the brand at all. I asked are you sure because I saw it was on the website. He stated no we donât maâam. Have a nice day. After that I used the website to find the aisle number and after looking on the map, I found it after 5 minutes of trying to understand the map and finding the aisle numbers. The Kiosk was less than a minute away from where the employee and I were standing. I walked past that same employee and told him thank you for the help, I was able to find it on my own. He stated oh, I thought we didnât have anymore. I donât understand how you can go from we donât carry the brand at all to I thought we ran out. There is a difference in not having a product period versus being sold out. The whole interaction felt discriminatory and I was truly disappointed in the lack of customer service. It felt like the employee was trying to rush me out the store because they didnât have what I was looking for. Never...
