Skyline Chili — Restaurant in Fairborn

Skyline is a conundrum to me. The food is extremely average and the chili tastes weird. However, I must be in the minority because the chain is very successful. Being a chain born in the general area gives it somewhat of an edge. The prices are north of reasonable, but again Skyline might be given a pass due to its local roots. I find a similar phenomenon with Cassano's Pizza - extremely successful local name, despite average, overpriced food.

What irritates me the most about Skyline is the design of their menu. Not only is it odd to navigate and decipher, but it doesn't seem like there is a "complete" combo meal. The options seem piecemeal, like "Here's a thing, and we'll just throw in a drink with it," and the combo ends up insufficient, which entices you to start adding extra a la carte items and the bill racks up quickly. And up definitely it will go.

If I have a positive, it's the Buffalo chicken wrap, which is quite good. The wrap is juicy and has the right amount of heat to satisfy someone who likes spice, but not so much so it makes someone gag who is sensitive to spicy food. That said, $7+ for it is ridiculous, since it isn't any bigger than an average Taco Bell burrito. This should be no more than a $5 item, but for $7 it needs to come with at...

I had wanted to try Skyline for years now. I finally got the chance while traveling for work. I stopped by for lunch. I was greeted and seated promptly. My waitress mustve been training as she had another waitress accompany her. I ordered a 4-way (with onions), a cheese coney, and a drink. They offered crackers while I waited for my meal. It didnt take long at all to be served my food. Coney dogs arent huge but I didnt care, they were reasonably priced and tasted good. The real star of the show was the 4-way. DELICIOUS! This is the famed dish of Cincinnati, and I loved it. The famed dish of my hometown, Rochester NY is the "Garbage Plate"...which is served with a meat hot sauce topping. I find skyline chili to taste very similar. There are no beans, just meat with hints of cinnamon, maybe even a touch of nutmeg? No matter....it mixed so well with the spaghetti base, the MOUNDS of freshly shredded cheese, and diced onions. Boy do they pile that cheese on! You can really tell the difference when cheese is freshly shredded like that. I absolutely loved every bite...I cant wait to go back. I'll be ordering the large next time and hope for some leftovers to bring home! Service was fast & friendly! See you again soon I hope! Solid 9 or...

Another great tasting visit to skyline chili. My daughter indulged in the plain hotdogs with cheese, while I enjoyed the flavorful buffalo chicken wrap (see attached photos please and leave a like). The lettuce was so fresh and crisp today and the spicy buffalo sauce had my mouth all ablaze with flavor. The staff team was very polite and attentive to all the patrons needs. The restaurant itself was very well maintained with a relaxing pleasant atmosphere. We sat don't row and watched the team as the food was prepared for all the hungry patrons. Drinks stayed refreshed and we were ordered drinks to take home...
