Staff is MIA...door signs says gym open 24 hours, also says office is staffed/manned till 3 pm but no one is/was ever available on the phone or in person during three different attempts to sign up this past week before 3 pm. Gym front access door are locked and no one is available to buzz a NEW POTENTIAL CLIENT inside between 9-3 pm as POSTED on their front DOOR sign. On the third attempt I had to literally walk in when a departing customer was leaving after knocking on the glass twice for staff to help me. Furthermore there isnt anyone available to check people in or check their temperature or if one is wearing mask etc as required by Governor Newsom's AND FEDERAL CDC directives .
I saw just 2 POSSIBLE employees (one in the main office to the left and close to the main entrance which was locked and unmanned and one more possible employee about 20 feet inside on left side), if they were anytime fitness employees neither came out or approached to help me. While waiting for possible assistance in the inside foyer i called the number listed on the door sign.... a gentlemen named Kevin had a voice recording explaining their new reopening new less restrictive pandemic hours and policies but trust me their gym is not manned accordingly to his voicemail or door signage. No messages were returned by anytime fitness management in fallbrook after asking for a callback at least twice.
I guess once they get you signed up and give you their code/access card it maybe different but i made the smarter business choice and signed up in just 8 minutes on the first attempt at another bigger better equipped and professionally managed gym (Club Paradise Gym) just 3/10 mile away on the main blvd.
Club Paradise Employees are defintely better trained, customer friendly attitude, they are hands on, they staffed around the clock, and they rendered professional courteous customer service. The main difference between these two facilties is that Anytime fitness is open 24 hours but i am not going to beg any business to take my money and be treated in an ill manner like i was at this anytime fitness location. I will get my daily workouts in before 9 pm while i am greeted with a smile at Club...
Read moreI had such a difficult time enrolling back at this gym with one of the managers Dom. First off, my membership got cancelled due to card issues on my end so I called the office trying to see if they can help me out but activating my membership again and I spoke with Dom he said they were not able to and had to sign up all over again. So he explained to me the process and how much I had to pay to enroll again which he was quoting me $200 dollars! I then explained to him that I get my membership through my work and I did not need to pay that because of my benefits. I would only need to pay for the key fob because like I said this was my second time doing this. He then kept insisting that that’s how much I had to pay to active my membership. We were going back and forth, I’m trying to explain to him that I did not need to pay that much! I then let 2 weeks go by and I ended up signing up again through my work , I reached out to him yesterday to set up a meeting to finish out my “enrollment” when he got back to me he said that in order to activate my membership through them it’s a $200 initiation fee that includes the key fob, security fee for the gym, as well as 4 coaching sessions included. His exact words. (I have screenshots to prove it) I was not understanding why I had to pay that much. Because first of all I never asked for couching sessions. I was so irritated that I went to another anytime fitness location explained to them what was going on and they said none of that was true and i did not need to even purchase the key fob!! Or pay any of that!! The manager was able to help me out she said I was already in your system and was ready to go. She proceeded to tell to go on the app and access my pass and sure enough there it was. This was such a headache for no reason Dom was just trying to upsell me this whole time and never listen to what I was explaining. Very...
Read moreI am extremely disappointed in the new management of this gym. Dom the manager scammed my mother out of $200. She had a stroke and had to cancel her membership, and when she tried to re enroll, Dom helped her out and said it was $200 to enroll. He said it came with 4 “free” training sessions which she is not even interested in using. She did not have the spare money as she is still paying her medical bills, but she gave him all the money she had left in her account, hoping that the gym will improve her health and prevent future strokes.
She came back home and told me about it. I used to work at Anytime Fitness for years but left after I started working at a law firm. I know that there is no such thing as a $200 initiation fee, and they never give out free training sessions. I knew something was wrong so I asked my mother to go through her email to find a confirmation. We saw that she received the standard membership confirmation email, but also confirmation that she purchased individual training sessions. She never agreed to buying training sessions and the manager Dom said that they were “free” and “included” with the membership.
I’ve looked into it by asking the employees as I am still in touch with them, and they confirmed that Dom has indeed been scamming new members and upselling them. He deceives members and upsells them with crazy high initiation fees and promises that the training sessions are “free” when in reality he hides the fact he is charging them for training without their consent. He has been stealing thousands of dollars from people and it is completely unethical and a terrible look for Anytime Fitness. This is extremely shady and I am building a case to take Dom to court, if he continues to work at...
