I’ve always liked visiting this store because of their good selection of products and customer service, but lately things have gone downhill. Firstly, the last couple of times I’ve bought meats, deli items, and prepared meals, the items have gone bad within a day. As one example, I bought a prepared meal the other day that smelled spoiled the next day I went to eat it, despite the “sell by date” being within range. Needless to say, I threw it out despite having spent almost $8 on it. That’s not the first time that’s happened either! Secondly, some of the employees (mostly the young ones) that work there are clueless. Typical millennials who don’t pay attention, too busy socializing with each other versus giving you their undivided attention, etc. Some are good, but it seems more of them are just plain clueless and don’t understand customer service. You often have to repeat your order several times because they keep forgetting what you said. Also, I’ve often had them give me the wrong things despite my being very clear about what I wanted. It’s particularly annoying when you’re at the deli (where they use numbers to call on customers) and they don’t use the numbers!! Employees behind the counter (usually the kids) look dazed and confused and then just ask, “Who’s next?” Really?? Use the numbers!! Then, you have kids behind the baked goods section who will just stand there doing nothing and stare at you and not ask, “Can I get something for you?” You often have to call for their attention in order to get them to focus on you and help you! I guess they’re not really interested in selling their products. I realize my gripes may seem trivial, but when you’re paying the kind of prices that you do at this store, the customer service and attention to detail should be impeccable. Additionally, the products should be fresh and not spoil the day after you bought them. It’s unlikely I will continue going to this store. Don’t know if it’s like this at all the Highland Park markets, but the manager of the Farmington store needs to get with...
Read moreVery fresh products. Was there. 4 times this week buying soda, Fresh bakery rolls, and cold cuts. Chips ETC . Each visit spent minimum of $45.00-. Total for the 4 days $185.00. Today”s Only complaint and observation with my wife is the older gentlemen who was using his t shirt as a mask at the deli . He pulled it over his mouth and nose and on 3 occasions it fell to his chin . . Them pulling it up again and again. Word of advise . Do not wipe your nose in it and touch the counters . Respect others who may or may not have compromised immune systems like Diabetes , cancer patients. Under going CHEMOTHERAPY and coronary heart disease. In any event the deli young people are very good at serving others And very cordial especially the young girl who has waited on me this entire week but they should have stepped in because this was not only dangerous situation because he touched counters and wagons but it was very gross And dangerous.... Besides , signs were posted outside and on doors and totally ignored. This is the state law.Cover your mouth and nose when you talk So please be respectful in the future and in PUBLIC PLACES. Read moreI shop at the Farmington store. The prepared foods are blah and tasteless. Grocery prices are high. Their own line, Best Yet (or Best Choice?)is lousy quality. They sell some gourmet things but these are pricey. This is just a place to get groceries when you forgot the milk or eggs or loaf of bread. The service is poor. Sometimes I wait more than 5,6 or 7 minutes in front of the bakery waiting for service. No one lifts their heads! The deli people are often engaged in loud, personal conversations. The staff never says hi or greets customers. They hide behind the bunker of a service desk. The carriages are weird and the registers look very uncomfortable to work at. They make their staff wear stupid poofy chef hats. Hardly see any women managers out on the sales floor. There are no scanners to check prices. Merchandise and back stock supplies clutter the front of the store along with miscellaneous racks and bulletin boards which is a shame because the view outside isnt half bad when exiting. The parkling lot is recently repaved and is the nicest thing...
