Been here a few times and the food is ok. The one âïž is for the nasty attitude of the employees. I was with a friend today (9/4/23) and they wanted to try it. In the past, Iâve always noticed the same thing when Iâd go in and it is definitely the language barrier with the people working there. I could overlook the language barrier, but the nasty attitude that the workers have when you donât understand something they are saying is another matter all together. You can tell by the looks on their faces that they are disgusted. They are disgusted that you donât understand them, or you ask them to repeat what they said. Today was no different. I wonât be returning to this restaurant.. Unless you speak Spanish, or are currently learning from Rosetta Stone, go somewhere else for Mexican food..
Here is a free tip for the owner. Get some workers that are bilingual and teach the employees you have about being courteous. It is the non-Spanish speaking folks that are spending their money in your restaurant that keeps your doors open. If people stop coming to this place, you will be done...
Read moreI went to order takeout today. There was an employee preparing shakes in the back..and the employee in front of me asked him to take care of me. He took his time when he came out with the shake the other person left the shake. I asked for three dishes and anything I asked he will say no. I ordered a barbacoa burrito for me. I asked him very little rice to keep the carbs low.. the beans.. he dropped a couple on top.. I said everything else normal!! He collected all the fatty strips from the meat and put about 1 ounce of fat.. NO MEAT! I should have taken a picture.. just looking at it made me gag.. I asked him why he was serving me all the fatty and strips from the meat and the other customer order looked better.. he said beef was more expensive.. I am planning to come back and talk to the owner because my review is about this particular guy lack of customer service.. I would probably come back if I donât see this...
Read moreAs a Norcal native, I've got a strong bias as to what a burrito needs to be to get 4+ stars.
That having been said, it's not as if the West Hartford region has a lot of options when it comes to "Mexican" inspired food, so you take what you get.
The overall quality of the ingredients in the carnitas and al pastor that we had seemed ok, as did the components. But the food was just bland, not enough spices, not enough salt, and nearly devoid of "heat". The house salsa, while carrying two jalapeños on the sign was maybe a 5 on the scoville scale...the generous portion of raw jalapeños in the burrito had even less heat. It made for an uncanny and unsettling experience because our taste buds weren't rewarded with any flavor, even though we could smell a hint if flavor.
In a pinch, it will do, but it just doesn't compare to quality CA mexican or even a...
