I have been a patient of Dr. Yang for several years. During this time, I continue to be appreciative of his thoroughness in diagnosing and treating my conditions. He is always very friendly and professional. He is a careful listener, and he always clearly explains his treatment plans. Additionally, Dr. Yangās staff are always friendly and professional.
Weekend Situation
On a Saturday, I recently experienced a medical issue with my enlarged prostate (BPH). I didn't feel that my situation warranted going to an Urgent Care facility, but I wanted to discuss my situation with a doctor at Georgia Urology. I called their office, and left a message for their On-Call doctor. A short time later, I received a call from my doctor, Doctor Kevin Yang, who happened to be the On-Call doctor. I was very relieved that Doctor Yang was the On-Call doctor, because he was well aware of my prostate issues. After a brief discussion regarding my situation, he phoned in a prescription to my pharmacy, and he informed me that someone from his office would contact me on Monday, to schedule an office visit. I greatly appreciated the ability to speak with Doctor Yang regarding my situation. I also appreciated the level of after hour medical services provided by Georgia Urology.
Professional and Thorough
I cannot begin to express my satisfaction with Doctor Kevin Yang, and his staff. Upon entering the doctor's office, and being greeted by the friendly receptionist, to his medical assistant Leah, all of his staff presented themselves in a positive, friendly, and professional manner. Upon meeting Doctor Yang, he was friendly, and professional. He informed me that he had reviewed my medical file, and based on that review, he thoroughly explained to me how he planned to treat my condition. I found that Doctor Yangās demeanor, and bed-side manner was calming, and positive. I was very happy with the care that I received from Doctor Yang,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am a Marine Corp Veteran & since there are only 2 Urologists in the VA system for Georgia the VA pays for me to go to my own Urologist so after much discussion with my Brother who is a cancer nurse in Boston & my Sister in law who is a cardio pulmonary Doctor in Boston we all decided for me to use Dr Yang whose roots are up around my Brother & Sister in law in the Boston area ! They researched the schools he went to & his credentials & we are so very happy that out of all of the Urologistās I could have went to I picked Dr Kevin Yang of Georgia Urology in Fayettville,Georgia ! Dr Yang is such a true professional but very personal too so I felt totally at ease discussing my original diagnosis of an elevated PSA with him ! After a biopsy & a negative cancer free 15 samples he took I was relieved that I didnāt go through the same path as my younger Brother & Dad who had to have their prostate removed due to cancer ! After following Dr Yangs lifestyle recommendations I have lowered my PSA from a 4.76 down to a 3.63 ! So I received the good news today from him that I will see him back in one year ! I cannot say enough great things about Dr Yang ! I was so happy that he talked to me at my level & even though heās had decades of schooling & experience treating individuals with all kinds of prostate & urinary problems he always was calm, cool & collective in describing my results of my blood work,3T MRI & my biopsy ! I really appreciated his attention to detail in everything that he explained to me & he reaffirmed me that I didnāt have anything to worry about because āI was his patientā from now on & that really made me feel good & comfortable with him going forward ! May God Bless Dr Yang & I hope he knows how much I appreciate him & love him...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was diagnosed with an extremely aggressive form of prostate cancer in 2020. Dr. Kevin Yang was very thorough with his explanations about the necessary screenings I would require, treatment options and potential outcomes. I appreciated his straightforward communication skills and empathy. After doing my research, I opted for the surgery -- which was performed March 15, 2021 and turned out to be my only viable option. Dr. Yang also discovered a separate issue during the surgery which he corrected. The bottom line: Dr. Kevin Yang saved my life!
Update 2023/2024: After being cancer-free with undetectable PSA for two years, that metric began to inch higher, which we knew was a probability given the pathology results of the cancer. When my PSA reached 0.23, Dr. Yang indicated it was time to begin radiation with Dr. Geetha Rao. We knew this was a possibility from day one as Dr. Yang clearly explained the best scenario would be to put as much time between the surgery and WHEN I would need radiation. We achieved more than a two-and-a-half year cushion which allowed everything to heal from the surgery.
The Result: After 39 consecutive radiation treatments, my cancer is in remission and my PSA is undetectable because we addressed the need for treatment immediately. Plus, there is no permanent damage to any of my surrounding organs from the radiation. It's now my responsibility to get back in shape through regular exercise, discipline and a positive attitude. The coordination between providers, the collective focus on healing procedures and sincerity for my well being was...
