PITA Mediterranean Street Food - Fayetteville — Restaurant in Fayetteville

I usually frequent the Fayetteville, GA location however this will be last time, after I was told via phone by Tuna (Store Owner’s name) not to come back. I have had bad experiences with this store owner and his wife before, but I never thought it would get this serious. The food is good; however, they are prejudice store owners on race and class. I asked to use my points for one of my purchases his wife told me I could not use my (168 points to be exact) to get a free Shwarma bowl. She stated the going forward Pita by Beirut corporate would not allow me to use my points. The cashier looked at her perplexed and said he had not heard of that new policy. I asked her how long this policy was in place and when did it go into effect. In addition, there was not a clear sign on the door, or the in the establishment at all, stating this new policy. She stated that her husband Tuna made up the policy for his store only. I said “okay” and paid full price, although I knew I had been taken advantage of. I waited in my car for my food, and the store clerk who helped me brought my food to my car. I asked him what the past interaction was about in the store.

He stated he never heard of the policy. At that moment, the owner's wife came out and screamed at the clerk to get inside and said to me " Do not talk to him". I told her I was going to write to corporate, she said "Don’t contact corporate". As I drove off, I realized I had been taken advantage of and more importantly marginalized as an African American customer for speaking up for myself. I returned and asked for my money back and I returned their food. She became livid with angry (see pictures) and called her husband Tuna, Tuna told me, " I will refund the money back, but don’t come back the store". The wife did not want to refund my cash back and insisted I take it on debit card only. I made partial payment with cash and credit card per my receipt they had given me. 2017 Review: The food was okay nothing impressive. I like Mediterranean food so I definitely will return. There are not many restaurants in my area that serves this style of food and this was definitely decently priced so I definitely go back. The tzatziki sauce was not as bold in flavor as I would have liked it but it was okay. I ordered the shrimp Pita and my son got the chicken gyro with fries. It was definitely plenty of food. My son said the fries were the best he has had. I'll definitely try it again but probably try something else on their menu the next time to see if I get a different feel for the restaurant but overall I recommend it.

2019 Review: Decided to give them another shot, which was definitely a great decision. I ordered the falafel pita with tzatziki sauce instead of tahini sauce for $7.95. That was a great decision. The tzatziki sauce was definitely the star of the pita. I ordered the Labanee (yogurt sauce) as my side and it was well worth the money.
