For this Hong Kong market, watch out for stale meat, spoiled desserts on the counter, and Vietnamese coffee served with nasty cream. Not authentic (not using condensed milk). Sandwiches are decent, using lard, so that makes it taste good. However, I've had some plastic debris in my sandwich before, so I'm concerned about the cross-contamination. You can dissect it for yourself.
They charge $1 per lb to fry the fish for you. They used to season it first before deep frying. Now they seasoned it right after, and it's tasteless.
The BBQ pork is always overcooked, and greasy. It's soaked with oil seems. After eating it gives me so many problems every time because of the so much greasy in the meat and skin.
Customer service is okay. The market itself has a good amount of fresh fish...
Read moreThey sell fresh, fresh-roll (2 pcs) for $3.99! It's a win! Make sure to check out their fresh deli, located at the right end side right when you enter. There's no charcoal here. Oysters are delicious, $1 per piece for a large one. Seafood selection are best especially fresh fishes. There's mexican aisle. Weird part of animals can be bought here such as beef tongue, chicken feet, intestine etc. I don't recommend their veggies. Occasionally it doesn't look good and rot easily. Lots of Filipino, Chinese and Vietnamese selection however it's not as huge as the branch in Kent. Limited selection of asian sauces. Staff are always friendly and helpful! They got asian utensils too! This store just got the right amount of asian condiments to be able to make our weekly...
Read moreThe parking lot is a bit crammed and set up wonky but they have so many options squished in that little corner from coffee to pizza and bahn mi’s.
The store as well is very crammed, but it’s got everything the Kent Hong Kong has without the crazy crowd. It feels bigger as well, might just be the taller ceilings idk. But they have a fresh and frozen seafood section with fish mongers, as well as a deli that seems to be busier than the last time I patroned. The bathroom is an improvement from Kent’s. The have betel nut and leaf. Bahn mi. All the sauces a Palauan could really need as well as vegetables. I’d prefer this one over the Kent location but the honestly it’s kind of tucked into a part of federal way I do travel through so besides that it’s a great Asian...
