Flame Burger Plus — Restaurant in Federal Way

Flame Burger Plus Revisit (Aug 14, 2023 Lunch time. Last visit June 2022)

This revisit occurred during one of the hottest days in 2023 in WA state. My daughter and I were looking for a burger place for lunch, and chose this place from previous experience of about 15 months. We also wanted to find a place with air conditioning to get out of the heat. Well, the air conditioning was not quite there as far as I can tell. The facility was loud due to the high speed venting fan sounds over the cooking space. I can’t quite tell if the indoor air circulation was due to weak air conditioning, or simply due to the air being “pulled” through the high speed loud venting fans. We did not noticed the problem till we stepped out of the store after the meal, when we felt the cooler outside temperature while in the shaded area. This, however, did not distract much from the taste of the food, which was excellent. I have since raised the star rating of this place from my previous 4 star rating, to now a 5 star rating.

This time around, the ice tea dispenser was not working. Right beside the cash register has the Specials listing with about 5 or more items. I may have missed the cheesesteak the previous time, or maybe this is a “new” item? I am a cheesesteak fan, and will always try out a cheesesteak if it is on the menu. Daughter had the same Bacon Cheeseburger as she did the previous time. She claimed the burger was just as good as before, the fries were fried well, and the Fried Zucchini sticks (new item ordered this time around.) were divine.

The cheesesteak sandwich is different from others. It seems this place uses “Steak-umm” type thin sliced beef as the meat base, with added sauteed onions and green peppers, plus a slice of cheese added to it. The “torpedo” bread was grilled nicely (Bread tastes better processed this way when compared to simply toasting it. Perhaps it is because of some grease from the grilled meat sticking to it?). The only downside is that it did not have enough of the sauteed vegetables; other than that, I find that it is the best tasting cheesesteak I’ve ever had in WA state so far. The fries, fried zucchini, and the Pepsi products also complimented the meal excellently.

The staff were pleasant (Not sure where the boss is.) and the “piped” background music provided a cool environment to the dine-in experience (partially drown out the loud air vent noise too.). Both of us enjoyed that meal thoroughly.

Every weekend my son and I look for a different burger place to go and try out. Today this was Flame Burger plus which is about a half hour away from my place but it was well worth the drive. This burger was excellent. From the first bite I knew immediately that I made a correct choice. The bun was nice and soft on the outside yet crispy on the inside the vegetables were fresh and crisp and you could tell that they were cut that day. I got the bacon cheeseburger and I'm so glad. The bacon was delectable to my palate. Everything you wanted in bacon existed in the bacon that they chose to put on the burger. It was cooked just right, it was very savoury, it was smoky, and it was a good amount. The cheese was melted to perfection and complimented the burger wonderfully. The burger in itself was delicious. Perfectly cooked, seasoned well on the outside and juicy and full of flavor throughout. Our burgers were accompianed with a large onion rings. And let me tell you, these onion rings were to die for. The large order had enough rings for my son and I both and were full of flavor upon every bite. The exterior of the rings had a wonderful beer-battered coating that was perfectly crispy and golden brown. The onion inside was substantial and very flavorful. During our meal we just chose to have a glass of water to drink, but afterwards we decided that we did in fact would like to each of us get a milkshake. He chose to have a mint flavored milkshake while I chose to have a strawberry one. The milkshakes there are great. They are full of flavor and very creamy. This is the best burger place in town. They have just about anything you can deep fry on the menu; clams, cod, halibut, catfish, and more. And the fries! Oh the FRIES! I normally wouldn't even order fries as I find them less than amusing. But these fries are amazing! So crispy on the outside and soft inside with the perfect amount of potato flavor (not much). The burgers themselves are DELICIOUS. There's a Hawaiian burger with pineapple and teriyaki sauce, an avacado burger, a bacon cheeseburger, a fried chicken or baked chicken burger and lots more.
