Let me start off by saying, I absolutely believe in supporting small town businesses. I was happy to be a part of running 2 small businesses with my husband, of Rochelle, and there's no better feeling than people coming to you for what they need and fulfilling their vision.
I bought my husband's wedding band from Venier's in Dixon, IL. The owner was SO nice. He welcomed me and talked with me, asked how my husband proposed. Not important, but the owner said, "I can't charge you engraving for THAT story, you have a great guy." (even if it was maybe $10 to do so.... but clearly it wasn't going to make or break is business sales that month).
At any rate, My husband walked in last month to drop the ring off at Quinn's, because it had a small crack in it. We live in Wisconsin now, because it was convenient to go there when we were in town visiting. We have no problem paying an extra costs to get it fixed, the sentiment of it was worth way more than the actual cost of a silver ring. Kyle was told $36 before he left the store.
My mother in law went to pick it up, and there was an extra polishing charge (unheard of, by the way..it's 2017) for $15.
Again, it's NOT that cost, BUT my husband wasn't told the ACTUAL charge and that's what got under him and I's skin. ALWAYS let the customer what you'll do it, and what the plan is, in order to get your customers back in the door. It's a ripple effect, you do good business, you tell everyone you know about your great experience and always recommend!!! That is a how a business owner thrives, through referrals!
The ring cracked again (I realize we might have to just get another ring), but I went to call to calmly discuss BOTH of these issues of the shady charging and that it cracked again.
I've worked in retail, sales, and again have 2 small businesses of my own alongside my husband, and I have NEVER been talked to the way that I had with the the woman who answered, and as well as the "owner" who seemed like he needed to retire. My husband was said to not have "told the truth" of being charged, and that I was wrong, in more/less words. I couldn't even finish my simple statements as I was constantly being interrupted. Pride got to the owners and began getting NASTY on the phone.
It is COMMON sense that the customer is RIGHT, and that you SYMPATHIZE with that situation they're in.
I really hate leaving this review, but again, as a former manager in sales, it needed to be done.

Read moreThis is THE jewelry store that you should visit when you want to find a nice ring for your wife! :-) Or, if you need service done on any jewelry, they do service on-site. There's none of the "4-6 week return time' that other stores give you when they send it out to another facility. The owner is very friendly & knows his merchandise. I highly recommend stopping here whenever you need service on rings, necklaces, etc, or to buy something nice for your wife, girlfriend, etc. Great prices, great staff, & a very nice place to shop at. Highly...

My sister and I were so impressed! Our parents loved their gift and they now wear them everyday! So happy! Thank you,...
