I bought a Speed Queen washing machine from Clark's back in 2019, I believe it was, but didn't move into my house until Thanksgiving of 2020 to where I actually began using it. I noticed immediately that my clothes were not getting clean, and admittedly, was a little perplexed. Worse yet was that they were being shredded. Necklines and the ends of sleeves and pants legs were especially suseptible to being sliced along the folds. Take a pair of scissors and cut along the folds. That's what is happening to my clothes. I noticed an unusual 'pattern' of 'spaced' wear along the bottoms of thicker pant legs. A row of precisely 'spaced' holes in pajama bottoms, varying an inch or two apart. Cotton items don't stand a chance. Pills and pulls in everything. I've tried every cycle imaginable, and gentle cycle seems to be the only cycle that gives my clothes any chance of surviving, but they don't get clean on that cycle.
They questioned why I hadn't said anything sooner, but I've been focused on my cat who has chronic kidney disease and still am. I am also dealing with other problems.
Eventually I did call, thinking the problem was the drum and how sharp it was, and they came out and replaced both the drum and agitator. Additional bolts were added beneath the agitator as well. First load after, zippers were pulled loose from 2 robes.
I've examined the machine further, trying to figure out what exactly is wrong, and I believe one of the problems is that the cuffs of pants legs, sleeve ends, necklines, lightweight cotton, and so forth float to the top and get stuck between the top of the drum and the plastic ring above it that I was told move in opposite directions. There is a small gap between the two, and it's sharp in there, and the plastic ring has notches that would explain the 'pattern' of wear that I am noticing.. It would also explain why cuffs of sleeves and pants legs look like I took a pair of scissors to them and cut them with the utmost precision.
Clark's, it is not the integrity of my clothing. My neighbor has an older model and loves hers. I asked her to check if her machine has a gap between the drum and the ring, and she told me it doesn't.
Clark's, you need to do something here. If I were to come into the store, I'm willing to bet the floor model has that same gap. It is sharp in there, and I'm not sure if it's the agitation or the spin that is causing the problem, or both, but this is a design problem. I believe you need to return this machine to the manufacturer and allow me to pick out a new washing machine that will not damage my clothes. I have ruined so many items of clothing, and I really don't care that I didn't say something sooner. My cat comes first. Please please please do something. I liked and trusted the lady who sold it to me, and I believe she wasn't aware of the design problem. The serviceman was told I'm not the first person to complain about damage to clothing. Please give my a call, but I will not be available to come in until next week. I hope I can find a machine that will fit the drain pan I had plumbed. The pan is too close to the wall even for this SQ, but maybe something can be rigged to make it work because the people who did that won't fix that...
Read moreI grew up with my parents getting all types of items from Clark's. So when I bought my own place and needed appliances and electronics, I went here. Everything I bought from them I either had to bring back or get services by them. Bought brand new Bosch washer and dryer. And was told by them, that is the best top of the line dryer they have. Dryer didn't even last 6 months. And there was nothing they could do. So I told them give me the most basic dryer with not alot of parts. Basically give me your most reliable dryer you have. Was told they use this next type of dryer in all laundry mats and cruise ships. I've had them out twice to replace parts in it. I've had it for a few years now. Next... dishwasher lasted 6 months. Next.....tvs I bought 2 tvs here in the past and never again. When you spend $1,500 on a tv you expect to have it more then a year. Well that wasn't the case twice. I literally had one tv for 3 months and all of a sudden it was showing a dark bar at the bottom. So I brought it back and the guy who runs the place asked me if it was dropped. And there was nothing he could do, unless I shell out more money. Well it wasn't dropped... by me atleast. But after being around this place for literally decades, I've looked in the back and seen how they operate and let's just say I'm not surprised they don't take care of there products. Oh and I bought a tv from best buy for the first time in my life, 5 years ago.... best tv and service ever. Clark's should learn from bigger...
Read moreJeffrey: I spoke at length to Whirlpool Management. Since the unit is 100% in full warranty for all parts and labor they have determined that the unit should be repaired vs replaced. I discussed the conversation that you had with their consumer experience team misleading you to believe that your unit is a three year old lemon. They apologized for the misunderstanding and have agreed to comp you a complete 5 year DOP extended service contract to offset your peace of mind. Our technicians topline diagnosis leads to one of two parts a season and or a board. The plan for next steps would be to order both parts and arrange for service, repair and monitor the units performance. I understand that the unit does not get daily use therefore the five year contract will offer complete protection.
I can be reached in the office tomorrow through Friday
