Texas Health Orthopedic Surgery Center — Local services in Flower Mound

I do not live close by this location but ended up having surgery here yesterday because when I was calling around early this week for information it was really the only place I called that seemed to want to REALLY help me. Wendy who answered my first of many phone calls to her, was amazing to me. EVERY person I spoke to from medical staff or billing questions, at both the Dr’s offices as well as the Surgery center, was also amazing, including Dr. Wilkofsky that was my surgeon. I don’t think I’ve ever had bad healthcare, but I’ve never been anywhere I felt THIS cared for, not even close. I wish I had a made a point to jot down everyone’s names so I could recognize them all, but a special thanks to both my pre-op nurses and my post-op nurse who took care of me like my own Mom would. Some of the most caring people I’ve ever met in my life. This incident happened two weeks before my new health insurance went into effect, they offer very reasonable self pay rates and payment options. Basically 1/3 price of the first hospital I was at. My wife had a simple procedure today. We were recommended to go here for this doctors expertise and had to drive quite a long distance to get there. She was promised that the pain levels would be nearly non-existent and she would be under sedation for the procedure. Well, it seems everyone was in a rush and the patients comfort was severely neglected. For some reason the sedatives didn’t work and she was left feeling every bit of pain. When she expressed concern and panic to the nurses, her pleas were ignored. I can confirm she was not sedated because she had no signs of being under sedation when I picked up her. She was angry and started crying about having to scream into a pillow as this simple procedure was forced on her. She informed the nurse and doctor that she was not feeling any sort of sedation but again it was ignored. We will never go back to this place, they seem to be interested in quantity over quality and put their desires over the patients, at least in this case.

I am giving this rating because of the way I have been treated by 2 of the office staff (1 being the Business office MANAGER). Two weeks ago I spoke with Danny regarding a refund of $336 that was owed to me as they overcharged me for my out of pocket for surgery performed on 2/14/2022. He assured me he would personally call me the following Monday. He did not so I called again he told me "oh, well, my supervisor needs to look into this." Once again, I did not get a call back. I went to the office in person and asked to see Wendy the business office manager and was told she would get back to me. She did not. I make a second visit to the office on 3/15/2022 and finally meet with her. She is standoffish and tells me "Well, BCBS didn't process your claim right, so when they do, you will get your refund. " After basically being "dismissed" by Wendy, I called BCBS myself and was told the claim was not being "reprocessed" and the agent called Wendy herself to try to get some resolution to this.
