Updated review: After 3 months, still no response from this business and the "new" dryer I bought also needs repairs. Stay far, far away from this place! The "new" oven I bought is not eligible for the whirlpool warranty as it was first registered in 2013!! I have reported them to the NCDOJ consumer protection division.
Previous review: I wanted so badly to give them a good review, because they advertise being veteran owned. But I was treated like the scum of the earth when they were unable to deliver my appliances for 2 weeks, and the "new" range I bought the oven didn't work. They did refund my delivery fee, after I had to rent a trailer to go pick up the appliances. I had to unload them and get them in the house on my own, which is why I wanted the delivery in the first place.
The salesman plugged in the appliances when I was there, and it all seemed fine. When I tried to use the oven, it came on but would not get to temperature after an hour. I was told I probably just didn't know how to use it, and that even if I brought it back it would be weeks before they could fix it and they didn't have a different one they could replace it with. Plus, I'd have to bring it to them for them to do anything about it, which is fine, but don't treat me like a criminal for trying to get it resolved.
If you have time to wait for delivery or have a way to pick them up, then I guess it's okay. But I definitely don't have $500 to spend on a range that doesn't work. I wish I'd just spent the extra on a big box store. At least I wouldn't have been treated this way.
Unfortunately, they are not registered as a veteran owned business, which carries a standard of care for its customers, and ethical practices. The reason they state no refunds is because they do not stand behind the products they sell, but they will take your money whether they work or not. Lesson learned. I will try to get it resolved as best I can, and hope they do the right...
Read moreBought a 21cu.ft freezer from Forest City Appliance Center , and plugged it up, let it run for 3 days. We have alot of meat because we raise our own beef. After the 3 day period we loaded the freezer full of frozen meat from our chest freezer we were replacing with this new, slightly dented freezer from Forest City Appliance Center. 2 days later, I noticed blood from the unthawed meat dripping from the freezer. The meat was unthawed the freezer was warm. I called Forest City Appliance Center and was told "oh well aint nothing I can do about it. We dont give refunds." We called the manufacturer they said they would send a technician. Never heard from the manufacturer. I called back and they said the tech told them it could not be repaired. He advised I go back to Forest City Appliance Center because it was too new and return the freezer and get a refund. After going round and round with both the manufacturer and Forest City Appliance Center we took Freezer back to Forest City Appliance Center and left it. The owner said he'd have his technician fix it. Weeks went by no call from them. So we stopped by and the gentleman that works at Forest City Appliance Center said the technician could not fix it. He said was Unfixable.... but the owner said he does not give refunds. Thats all they kept saying. They have the freezer and our money. Do not buy anything from Forest City Appliance Center they do not stand behind what they sell. They are...
Read moreI bought washer and dryer from appliance center and it was fine until I needed service on washer and dryer four months after I bought. My warranty of course ram out at three months. I called appliance center and was told i would receive a call that Thursday or the next if they couldn't fit me in their schedule. I waited a full month and called to be given attitude about how they were so backed up they didn't do calls repair calls any longer. I explained that maybe I should of received a call to inform me of that. Her response was ,"well we don't do them so if you want to bring it in them you can." Upset I told her you don't run a business that way I should have been told they didn't come out or wouldn't. She said well we don't so you can bring it in and well service. Do not recommend buying because they do not stand behind their word. When I bought I was assured they would service and while i get things change with businesses and policies if you promise to call and schedule a service call you should follow through or at least call and let customer know to not expect you. And you should never be rude when you and your company are in the wrong. I realize three company got their money and could care less if my machine runs now but seriously need explanation on how to build relationships...
