Recalling when the habitat for humanity workers came out to work on my mom's house. Mayors of towns, lawyers from Rutherford county, doctors, accountants, and politicians came out to work on my mama's house. That's right your Civic leaders often do work on a volunteer basis for habitat for humanity. And they do good work, We needed roof work as well as a back porch they came out and helped along with members of The Element Church. My mom was murdered in 2021 so in her honor I'm giving them an honest review. Thank you for what you did. The habitat for humanity ReStore has loads of usable items reasonably priced. In general I love supporting Habitat and have had only good experiences locally in Ocean Isle Beach, Southport and Wilmington. I have also had good experiences in Asheville and Hendersonville, when in the area. A male employee was bringing in wind chimes in the Forest City location. I asked if he would be putting them out and asked what kind of price he would be putting on it. He literally stated that nobody locally would be willing to pay the price he would put on it and would most likely put it on EBay. That is insulting and I don’t plan to ever spend a dime at that location. This person had a poor attitude and needs work on his customer service skills. Such a great staff as on top of their apparent policy of selling wood scraps at unbelievable value after giving a “look over” of items pulled I was interested in and offering books at $5 for all-I-can-fit into a shopping bag for only $5, they also held a couch for me last year, I assume after my face being a regular, but when moved here and pinching pennies while living in an RV with no heat in a winter causing my pipes to freeze almost nightly, I was followed into the parking lot by an employee to give me 2 extra blankets I’d shown interest in but had to decline due to limited budget.
