This place has a lot to check out starting from the visitor center to the logger memorial to Bella’s trucks to the Forks Timber Museum to the welcome sign that says “The City of Forks Welcomes You”.
So there are two “The city of forks welcomes you” signs. One is here and the other is as you enter Forks from Port Angeles. That sign is a little harder to get by but this sign is much easier in terms of accessibility and getting some photos. This reminded me of the twilight movie, and luckily the day I went there, it was cloudy and raining, and that most certainly set the scene. This place was not super crowded but there were a bunch of people around checking out the museum and visit center and Bella’s trucks. A little walk away is the population of forks board to check out! This place is free to visit - no tickets or reservations required. However, you might see a line of people waiting to click some photos, so that might add to your wait time.
There are two trucks: a red one and an orange one. Both are Bella’s trucks, one is from the movies and the other is from the novels that Stephanie Meyer wrote. This place has a lot of people checking out the trucks and getting photos with them. It’s the perfect place if you love twilight book and/or movies! This place is free to visit and no reservation or tickets are needed but just a heads up - you might find a lot of people in line to click some photos, so add that to your wait time. The forks welcome sign is also nearby and the timber museum is right next to the trucks. Amazing things to check out as well!
The Loggers Memorial was right across the Forks chamber of commerce visitor center, Bella’s trucks, the Forks Timber Museum, and the welcome sign. The Forks Loggers Memorial remembers people who lost their lives working in one of the most dangerous professions - the timber industry. Spending time here followed by a visit to the Forks Timber Museum gives a lot of perspective about the Timber industry, the dangers of working there, its history, and the lives of people working there. My visit here felt very meaningful and I am glad to have had the chance to spend time at the loggers memorial and reflect. This place is free to visit - no tickets or reservations needed.
The visitor center has information about what to do in Forks - places to visit, twilight themed places etc. The staff there were very kind and helpful and gave me some maps and also some tips about how to get to Hoh rainforest (the best time is before 7 AM or after 4 PM to avoid traffic...
Read moreShort older lady with glasses who works at Forks Chamber Of Commerce attacked me for over 10 minutes in regards to my service animal despite having her card ( paperwork) and jacket. She just kept telling me I was lying and that it didn't mean anything that I had all my dogs stuff and she kept saying that anyone can have that just order it online and 2 out of 10 are really service animals. She kept going on and on about the trails in La Push (when a cop told me I can take my sevice dog with, it is illegal to part a disabled person anywhere from there sevice animal. ) Even after answering her questions she kept attacking me! I am fully disabled and have severe ptsd along with medullay sponge kidney disease. I have never had someone be so hostile and degrading in my life! She needs to be FIRED immediately! I drove all the way from Spokane to have a good experience with my young daughter and we ended up just leaving didn't look or by anything after camping 4 days in the rain also. I am livid!!!! Completely ruined our...
Read moreAwful experience here, we drove up from the California valley to come to forks and experience the twilight magic. My 12 and nine year old were so excited as this was our first stop. The lady with long red hair was so rude in the chamber of commerce and we did not feel welcome. Ruined the experience. She followed me and my son around saying repeatedly “that’s fragile, don’t pick that up” for little things like keychains and bracelets. I understand that she probably gets people from all over the world in the shop, but we were the only family and my son is a huge twilight fan and was being super respectful. I Would have spent money buying twilight things but the attitude and side comments definitely made us feel unwelcome so we went to the shop in town instead. Just a warning, if you have kids, skip this shop and go somewhere...
