I've been going to Rusty's since I was a child with my parents. I've purchased hamburger meat, steaks, bacon, sausage and chicken for years. Susie was friendly and kind. She made you feel like She was glad you were there. She kept Rusty's in great shape. I've purchased hamburger meat so many times and placed it directly into my fridge and never had an issue cooking it the next day. It always was as fresh as the day I bought it. Not anymore. I purchased hamburger meat yesterday and immediately put in the fridge to cook for my family today. The meat was already bad. I called and the lady that runs it now offered for me to bring it back to replace if I did it before they closed that day. It was already going on 5 and I had been moving things all day and was too tired to rush down there even though I live close. I offered to send a picture of the meat still in their bag and their wrapping but she didn't want that. Her Customer service skills are lacking. It was around $17.00 but because of how she treated me she's going to lose me as a customer. I've never complained to them before. I've never had to but the hundreds of dollars I spend there can and will be spent somewhere else. She should have said "Absolutely, send me the picture by text and as long as I can see the receipt date and meat we will make it right next week when you come in again. A picture is worth a thousand words, which I feel like I've written that many here. It's disappointing how it was handled when their product was not up to usual standards and she acting like I should have ran right down there right then or forget it. I won't go back. I can give my money to another butcher and get fresh hamburger meat. She advised me it begins to turn bad the same day if you don't cook it but I've bought it hundreds of times from them and it was fine the very next day. So long Rusty's it's a shame it's not ran like it used to be. Hope she learns how to appreciate her customers better, especially when they spend hundreds or more of dollars and have never done anything but support them as a family business. When she needs help with a bad product I hope people treat her better than she...
Read moreRusty meats have always been really good and fair priced. But we bought over $200.00 of meat in June most was frozen because it was a package. The hamburger we lay out to cook by the next day "in the fridge" the meat already lost color. The pork chops "after being thawed out" doesn't smell right. And isn't the right color either. Out of this whole package the only thing so far that's been good with color and taste is the chicken that was already from Tyson in a bag and they're roast. I've shopped here for years on years and never had this poor quality of meat. I do not appreciate paying out that much money and every packet of me that I pull out has to be cooked within the first 12 to 14 hours of being thawed out. It's almost like the meat was going bad and they froze it real fast and that's how we got our package. Always gave five stars in highly recommended. But now I would not recommend this for you if you're feeding your family for more than a night off of this meat. If I can't offer it to you fresh don't...
Read moreI felt obligated to leave a 5 star review after our experince at Rusty,s. We walked in and were immediately greeted by the most sincere worker I've ever met. He informed us of the meats available, a brief history of rusty's, and then let us shop around until we were ready to make a selection. He picked us the cuts that he "would want to eat" and was just so genuine about the whole ordeal. He mentioned he just started working there and had been a lifetime shopper at the market. This man is the epitome of an outstanding customer service representative. 5 star experience and we couldn't imagine going anywhere else for our beef in the Chattanooga area after such a pleasant interaction with this man. Oh, and the meat grilled to perfection to top it all off. Thanks for the ribeye! And consider giving this new employee a raise! Southern hospitality at...
