The food itself: Oh Boy the food itself, now I suggest you call in because everything here is practically made by hand and depending on your order it’ll take a bit to cook. And that’s ok because it’s well worth the wait, homefries, grits, eggs, biscuits, omelets, burgers and everything else all given precious time to cook, nothing is rushed and that’s what makes poppy one of a kind! Everything is seasoned to taste and very very good from the corned beef hash to the philly cheese steak its all fresh and freshly made with genuine care and attention! Ordered breakfast with grits toast and scrambled eggs from poppy's market cafe, as soon as i started eating i found a strand of hair in my food. Called to inform the lady who took my order over the phone, and she explained that she was sorry but it happens sometimes. She further asked if i wanted to be reimbursed or what. Please note this is the second time i purchase food from this establishment and found hair in my food. The first time was a cup of chicken and rice soup, and i let it slide, but this time around it happens again and to have the attendant confirm that it does happen sometimes is a big NO for me!! Been eating there for over 20 years and always big fan. But last 3 years quality has dropped greatly. I always eat in to relax and save time but it takes a long time to receive my sandwich. Usually order a BLT but yesterday the Bacon was cooked through but so chewy I couldn't eat it. Only was able to finish part of sandwich. I always recommend them because their BLT was the best but no longer. After the sandwich, sweet tea, service charge for using my bank card and $2 tip (for what I'm not sure) lm out $13 and didn't enjoy my last visit.
