Disappointed in Customer Service – Refused Valid Cat & Jack Return
I visited this Target between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. to return old, used, outgrown Cat & Jack uniforms. I was well within the return policy (under one year, with receipt), which clearly states Cat & Jack will accept worn & outgrown items.
Before speaking to the manager, I had already called Target corporate, and they confirmed my return was valid. The manager dismissed this, claiming they only take returns if there are tears — which is not Target’s policy.
When I mentioned Coldwater Target would accept the return, she told me I could go there if I wanted. I did, and they gladly processed it.
This interaction felt unprofessional, and the manager seemed to create her own rules rather than follow company policy. I noticed on Google reviews that another customer also reported being denied a valid Cat & Jack return at this store. This just confirms that this manager is uneducated about Target’s return policy and needs better training to ensure consistency and fairness.
I couldn’t help but notice that my family was the only Hispanic family in the store at the time, which made me question whether unfair treatment played a role.

She was told they were out of that particular coffee and offered to top it off with hot water. Not thinking it would be a difference in amount of coffee in her drink my wife declined to have her coffee diluted in exchange for an ounce of volume. After getting to her car and getting kids in and preparing to leave she found out the up was nearly half empty and was still charged full price. Being that she was with our kids she couldn't just run back inside and have it corrected she was left feeling dissatisfied and disappointed. This is unfortunate as we are typically offered a pour over if this is the case, or at the very least offered to mix it with a different blend to make up the difference. My boyfriend and i are expecting the arrival of our first grand babies and we were out shopping for nursery items for the parents.
We found a perfect crib and changing table set clearanced but could only find one of the display models in stock.
We called for assistance and Liz, the team leader came to help us. She told us the changing table was out of stock and spent a lot of time trying to help us figure out an alternative.
She was patient, genuinely cared about our objective and, I forgot to mention, it was closing time as well. She never made us feel rushed or like a bother.
