Terrible experience. Drove all the way out from Woodland Park and had to deal with a super grumpy Boomer lady. I asked a few questions about the apples they sell, and she was huffing and sighing and acted so annoyed. No one could answer my questions about buying a bale of hay although they advertise that they sell it. 🙄 So I offered to purchase a small bale of straw or hay and Ms Grumpy pants kept repeating "they're not any good and they are old and nasty" I was ok with the ones that had been rained on since I wanted to it keep outside for fall decoration. Although I stated this, they still wouldn't sell me hay or the "nasty" straw LOL Like, Really? I love supporting small businesses but it's usually a crap shoot. There are plenty of other orchards to support in CO. Lesson learned, I...
Read more$$$$$ Expensive as all get up! I'm all about organic and all about supporting a local business (even if prices are slightly higher). But this place is pretty outrageous with prices. They do have an interesting selection of stuff (besides produce). They have local meat from Rick's Processing. They have tortilla chips, salsa, kettle corn, all kinds of different fruit spreads and sauces. But the problem remains that none of it is affordable. Small one serving size bag of tortilla chips for almost $7. Big bag of kettle corn almost $9. I honestly didn't look at many more prices since the ones I did look at are astronomically high. I did end up buying some peaches that had dead ants in them. I also bought a watermelon ($10) that was...
Read moreWe were excited for our first experience here at Colon Orchards. Unfortunately we will not be returning as the female cashier felt that gossiping with customers checking out about my 3yo daughter and 16mo son climbing the bales with supervision looking for pumpkins “wasn’t allowed.” Super unprofessional to overhear a conversation that should have been had directly with us, and had it been, we of course would have kept them on ground level. There are no signs indicating climbing isn’t allowed and every other pumpkin patch we have been to has encouraged climbing and sitting on bales for pictures so it wasn’t that we were being disrespectful we were letting our kids be kids. Will not...
