I will rate this 3 stars, read all please.
Last night one of my dogs attacked a fledgling that fell into my backyard. Fortunately and mainly luck of timing, I was able to separate my dog from the bird, and contained the fledgling unharmed. I know when you see a fledgling you leave it as the parent is watching. I could Not leave the bird as with my dogs living here and coming in and out often, that parent was never going to come down from passed incidents that this same event occurred.
With my experience although unfortunate I could not give 1 star. Here’s why.
Although calling this place and sending a picture, or even sending an email was impossible. I still managed with patience and really just a good 5-10 minutes of hunting, to actually reach and contact them. They were kind, reasonable, quick, and offered helpful information places elsewhere where I can drop my animal in need. For this this place strongly deserves as many stars possible for being volunteer and small.
As for why I removed two stars. After heavy scrutinizing the directions to address given by the rescue’s online site. Takes me to the wrong address. Do not follow Google map directions to this place as they are incorrect. The second reason, truly is just the result of the amount of scrutinizing and diving I needed to do just to be able to contact this place.
Heavy recommendation: Please fix Google direction.
I do not have the proper equipment or skill to raise this chick with absolute certainty. Although this is the second of three I managed to save from my yard, I have yet to keep 1 alive. I’ve had And I can’t go an hour away to drop off the bird. This place, which presumably was just down the street from me. Was my only place I could deliver this bird.
It is not this places fault i could not manage to give the bird to a rescue facility or even volunteer. So I will give back 1 star.
I will now do my best taking care of this chick, I hope I’ll...
Read moreI got so much help from Crystal!! I found a baby dove and was calling so many places until I stumbled upon Crystal. She is a one woman volunteer. Completely nonprofit. She does not get paid for what she does. Patience is necessary. She Will direct you to the closest rescue center nearest to you. She provides any additional information that she can. She was very helpful and extremely kind. Once I was able to get to her she took the dove and right away. She explained to me how the dove was very dehydrated and right off the top of her head knew exactly what to do and how to feed it. She’s an extremely caring person especially just to do this on her own with no additional help or resources except for those out of her pocket. Thank...
Read moreI had called a couple of places for help with a poor sick pigeon I found in my backyard. No response from anyone until I found and texted Crystal. She responded quickly with her address telling me she could help and to bring the bird to her. When I got there I was so impressed with her knowledge of what might be wrong and her expertise in how to help. I was so relieved as I didn’t have a clue what to do and I felt so bad for this beautiful little bird. I can’t thank her enough for what she does and how much she cares! What a blessing to our wildlife and community!!! Thank...
